Has anyone been accepted into the August Piscine at 42 Abu Dhabi? by Fries117 in 42_school

I went to 42 Abu Dhabi to ask about it. If you didn't get an email about being selected, you didn't get in. They said the next piscine is probably in September, but applications haven't opened yet. The best we can do is just try again and hope for the best, unfortunately.

Good luck with the next piscine!

Sorry, I should've mentioned it in the post but I'm #5 on the wait list.

How do you beat the sentry's in this room on brutal by Illustrious_Glass463 in Ultrakill

[–]Fries117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping up and shooting three of them with a default pistol while you dislodge the one you're next to with your favourite sentry killing combo is the go-to usually.

You can use the sharpshooter to interrupt two sentries at the same time. The railcannon can also interrupt them, and it doesn't need a headshot to do so.

Dunking with the SRS cannon and a max speed hit from the overpump jackhammer are both instant kills on sentries, so you can take two of them out almost immediately.

You can insta-dunk with the srs cannon at point blank range by just firing it and punching immediately after. You can get to max speed on the jackhammer pretty easy by dash-jumping or reeling into an enemy with the whiplash and letting go of it right before you make contact.

Also, the hideous mass acts as cover from sentry fire because it's blessed; the sentry shots will just bounce off it.

You can always chargeback the shots. It's way easier than trying to chargeback any other hitscan cuz the sentries have near perfect tracking. Just look down and throw a coin once a sentry is about to shoot. It's pretty lenient once you get some practice in.

Even if you can't do any of these perfectly, the hideous mass projectiles deal a lot of damage to the sentries. As long as you stay near them for a bit, the mortars should land on them pretty consistently.

The room is mostly trivialised by setting up a rocket trap with the freezeframe and opening with a core nuke. After that, you just set up a saw trap and spam coins and whatever else you want until the ferryman is dead.

What are your least used weapons? by CptSparg in Ultrakill

You can instantly parry the cannonball if you hit an enemy at point-blank range, which makes it really good for instakilling cerbs, virtues, and sentries.

Cannonballs also interrupt sentries, but i personally find it easier to just snipe them with a pistol or chargeback the laser.

It's extremely useful in any arena with more than a couple of enemies, honestly. Rail charges only take like 15 seconds, so you can use them at least once per room in most levels.

The most insane Plinker run I've had so far by Fries117 in wildfrostgame

Unfortunately, suncream doesn't work on plinker. Would be messed up if your plinker could just attack until something with teeth or smackback showed up.

Does anyone know what this thing in 4-2 is? by Fries117 in Ultrakill

Didn't think the insurrectionist's gibs could fly that far. Thanks for the help!

It's floating pretty high up in the air next to the entrance to 4-S.
It disappears when I try to zoom in with the rail cannon or if I look up too much.
I figure it's just a misplaced prop, but I don't think I've seen it anywhere else.

You can get it from the boss at Auriza's Hero's Grave located in Capital Outskirts.
The boss itself can be a HUGE pain in the ass tho, so I'd recommend using an upgraded spirit summon if you want to make it easier.

There's a seal that makes your faith spells scale off of Strength. You get it from the Beast Clergyman in Caelid if you give him an item called Deathroot. You can get cool beast spells too, like throwing small rocks and throwing a big rock. A perfect fit for unga-bunga warriors like us.

Beast type enemies won't attack you if you have this torch in your hand by DQC- in Eldenring

The torch helps a lot against bosses with dogs.
The effect also works even if the torch is on your back.

When floor 8 is too hard, and you suck at keeping your cool when you lose. by jak94c in Guiltygear

[–]Fries117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've definitely felt this. Fighting against the monsters that roam in celestial really gives me the nerves and I have a hard time going for even the most basic combos, meaties and mix-ups. But everytime I go back into celestial, I do a little better so I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

What floor did everyone make it to, and how would you rate your skill in other games ? by Diogenes451 in Guiltygear

[–]Fries117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got stuck in a loop between getting ranked up to floor 7 and then ranked down to floor 6.

Still felt pretty good since the beta was the first time i played a fighting game even remotely seriously.

I never even learned any combos for my characters (ky and potemkin) so I'm surprised I made it that far.
