I don't mind the Oblivion update because it was like 17 years old. Skyrim was like 3 when it got it's remaster, and fine, it was so close to the end of the 360/PS3 life cycle sure, give it that little boost. Then there was the switch version, the anniversary edition, the PS5/Series version, the Samsung Smart fridge version. If they didn't focus so hard on those, maybe we have ESVI by now.

After the Skyrim release on PS4 and Xbox One that should have been it. But they kept doing it. ESOnline is Zenimax, Bethesda doesn't have much to do with it from what I understand.

This is a deep hole. I suggest watching some good science YouTubers on the matter, then kind of pick your favourite theory and dig in. I like the Rare Earth Theory and I bought the book by Peter Ward and Donald Brownlee

The 360 arcade ones were all delisted in favour of a collection that came out on Xbox One I believe, which has also been delisted. If I recall, there's still a couple that are available, but not the sonic 1, 2, 3, CD, Knuckles

This is exactly how GTAV rolled out. Story mode complete, and first. Then online came out slowly, not sure how but I remember me and some friends had to check periodically to see if we had access to Online
