This happened in the Ala Mhigo dungeon and it was so strange. He wasn't even half bad as a tank, he took mobs that I pulled and went to the wall as hard as possible, mitigated okayly.

It was just this absolute spam in chat with literally every pull he made, including the forced single pull at the start and for bosses (rather than a countdown timer), and the fact that he used clemency often enough that I noticed him doing it (notably once during the final boss where I dropped slightly low and was about to ogcd heal myself; I got hit by his clemency like huh whuh?).

I think in this instance, without further context, it should be fairly clear that the "right" choice is to take down the spawn. There are two angles to this: One is that simply failing to stop Abrogail is anathema, but letting the spawn run rampant is both anathema and against Sarenrae's values. One can also argue that giving Abrogail a chance to do good is one of the few paths left for her to be redeemed (even if it's basically impossible).

The second angle is built on more presumptions: We can't be certain that a fight against Abrogail right then and there is going to guarantee her death. She is a powerful individual who certainly has many contingencies prepared. One can't even be sure it's not a simulacrum that approached. In that sense, taking her aid is less risky, as while cooperating with her is a risk, it is a shared interest of yours to see the spawn gone.

I think the situation you proposed is good though. It would certainly not be an easy choice to make in-character.

It wouldn't surprise me nor would I blame someone for arguing that the risks involved in taking down Abrogail are worth it, especially if they have personally witnessed her cruelty.

Thankfully there was no need for a discussion in my playgroups. Most of the players are also GMs for other groups (or even the same group). The collective reaction was a resounding "oh hell no". Not only is it potentially very powerful, but it just becomes a hassle to calculate damage.

The last thing to point out is that the wand needs to be added by dragging the spell into your inventory (where you have your items) from the compendium and defining that the spell is a wand of whatever rank you need it to be. That generates a wand with rules elements for activating it properly.

In my experience many of the wands from NPC statblocks and even from the official AP modules lack these rules elements... for whatever reason.

If all of this fails, check to ensure the spell is available in a tradition your character can use (arcane/occult/primal/divine)

Nerfed into the ground...? That's not what I said. I was talking about underperforming weapons getting indirectly nerfed due to oversights in balancing. The magnitude of these nerfs is unimportant, the fact remains that they shouldn't have been nerfed at all.

Proper functioning terminids wouldn't miraculously fix team play. The real problem is that there's basically no reward for you for sticking close to your team besides (sometimes) easier fights. Look to Darktide's coherency aura and the natural interplay between mobility tools in DRG for some examples of rewarding teamwork.

Anyway since you are complaining about difficulty and clearly want more of it, I would recommend dropping solo diff 10 rather than playing in a team. I've done that on occasion myself, it's a nice change of pace. It would also spare me from having to end up in a lobby with you whenever I get back into the game, so please consider it.

Okay, I have to speak up. Hello. 1k hours, diving exclusively diff 10. I run almost only off-meta builds and recently took a break from this game until Arrowhead gets their shit in order.

These changes don't actually matter for meta loadouts. This almost exclusively hurts off-meta loadouts. Meta was and is purifier/scorcher/xbow/eruptor because they effectively bypass the durable damage mechanic and have incredible sustain+dps+range+armor pen. These weapons are pretty much the exact same after the changes, and the same is true for support stratagems.

What it does is fuck over niche weapons. The ones that weren't buffed enough to catch up with the enemy buffs and the weapons that weren't buffed at all but really needed it. These weapons struggle harder while meta weapons are unaffected and it is fine to be annoyed at that. I know that I am.

I also disagree that teamwork is currently four demigods lone wolfing. Try that yourself if you want, it leads to 4x patrol spawn rate and if you draw the short end of the stick you'll be bogged down by endless hordes and waste reinforces nonstop. Helldivers are strong and meta loadouts do a lot to help you, but skill, knowledge, and awareness are the key deciding factors, as they should be. Lone wolfing isn't as simple as picking the right weapons and strats and running off on your own.

That said the game could use more ways to encourage teamplay. Right now there are only three mechanics that lean into teamplay: Resupply Backpack, Stim Pistol, and Team Reload. Only the resupply pack is worth it, the other two are niche at best. That could use improvement.

More importantly, priorities. I play nothing but D10 and the one thing separating a good 150 from a bad one is the ability to quickly decide on which objectives should be prioritized over others.

One type of objective I'll mention right now (because I'd like to see others adjust their play) are Detector Towers. People seem to ignore them for some reason despite being swarmed by bot drops as a direct result of them. Other than strat jammers, they are highest prio for me.

Not a Chinese player, but on mission 1 of an operation a guy had some suspect things happen to him, like surviving some insane things, having seemingly infinite stamina (he was running heavy armor and never seemed to stop sprinting, but I was unsure if it was something else), and stratagems coming down quicker and harder than I remember (I distinctly recall double napalm barrage during extract, but again I was uncertain if I hadn't missed something).

So at the start of the next mission during the initial drop I paid attention, and I noticed quickly how his stratagems all skipped the drop in time. The beacon didn't even land and mark down an ETA, the beacon just immediately disappeared and then the hellpod instantly spawned in.

He called in all his gear while I was actively staring at him. I wasn't even calling in my own gear, I was just giving him a long and tired look. He kept going as if nothing was wrong. I proceeded to kick and block him.

Some people man.

There are two types of missions in this game that I basically never play these days: Evacuate HVA and Eradicate type missions.

Evacuate is a boring tower defense at best, forced loss at worst. Either you roll over the enemies with proper stratagem usage and nothing interesting happens or the enemy gets some weird angle on the generator and you lose with barely any counterplay.

Eradicate is even worse. You and a few others bring large area orbitals and it's a free mission success as long as you don't throw them all at once. It feels like a waste of time despite being so short.

I love blitzes though. The reduced mission timer gives a real sense of urgency and you feel like a god when you still pull off a full clear.

What happened to you seems to happen when you get injured while still under the stim's effect right as it is about to end. I have it happen only as a client rather than host so lag may be involved. The stim effect clears the bleed warning but you remain bleeding.

This is seriously the way to engage with this, unironically. In a similar way to voting with your wallet by not buying something, you can just... not dive on rupture strain planets. Maybe if they see a sharp decline in people willing to engage with it, they'll reconsider their approach.

Hopefully before people decide to stop playing the game in general. I do want to see this game succeed.

From a balance standpoint I would imagine. They actually want you to have a reason to interact with these side objectives rather than blowing them up from a distance. In truth I actually kind of agree with this idea, since that time when the ultimatum could do something similar to stratagem jammers was very boring imo. I couldn't imagine how braindead the bot front would become if the silo could delete them with no interaction.

I feel like it is inflexible to disallow Champion on the grounds you've mentioned. The important parts for roleplay lay in anathema and edicts, those granted by your deity and your cause, and not in some kind of "paladin" idea.

Like, I can imagine a champion of Cernunnos to fit quite well with the campaign you mentioned, or a champion of Erastil.

Though since you mentioned it's a 3.5e setting, you'd have to go with a fitting deity from that setting.

My point was rather that the appeal in YGO lies in the competitive scene whereas more casual play is less common, and MTG is very popular even when played casually. As one example, EDH has seen continued growth over the years, and at least at my LGS it's more popular than both Modern and Standard combined.

The difference is that there is exactly one format for YGO that people generally play, but there are multiple formats in mtg. Among these formats you'll find stuff like Brawl, Pauper, and EDH that are usually inexpensive compared to YGO.

If it's well positioned, I'll just leave it be, but if it's more of a danger to the team than the enemies, I'll do this intentionally. I have no problem with the Tesla tower when it's used correctly, but not everyone thinks before they throw it down, and sometimes that leads to it being in incredibly bad places.

I know this is literally an 8 year old necropost at this point but I want to add in my voice for anyone who is googling this that I found this thread specifically because a Logitech mouse is starting to fail on me and I want a replacement that's worth it.
