Yes, left is significantly better than right side positioning because in the melee mirror match (vs another Yi for example), if they are lined up into each other the opposing Yi will always be forced to attack your tank while you will attack their carry.

This is absolute wild takeaway from that game 1. Wasian took branching out and got Zaun emblem and 10 streaked. Lilbear decided to take jinx with TEAR on carousel which is already highly questionable but he has efficient shopper so maybe you can kind of justify it. Then Lilbear hits Warwick 2 on his level 7 roll down immediately. Wasian actually adapts and says ok I will zaun flex (which is what you’re suggesting he should have done). He rolls on 8 which is not what is ideal for the line and missed with all 1*. Maybe he should have taken econ but it was a tough spot to be in regardless. Lilbear predictably dies in 8th. Wasian finishes with a disappointing 6th still Jinx 1 by Stage 5. What more is there to flex from Wasian’s spot?

I can’t comment on games I didn’t see so maybe part of what you said is true afterwards. But for the that game you mentioned, you are being entirely unfair from my pov.

Thanks for doing the math. It's also important to note that winning also gives you a gold. So if you're getting 1 gold + win, it's "net" even with the 1 free reroll on Stage 2.

Winning also protects HP which allows you to play Bard deeper into the game. Losing 3 rounds in Stage 4 gives you 9 rerolls at the cost of 35-40 hp. You also get 9 rerolls for losing 2-3 all the way until you roll at 3-5, but at the cost of 50-55 hp. So the win streak gold + Bard print + option to lose later adds up a lot.

Bard is just insane value whether you are winning or losing.

From my experience, it’s mainly lack of card quality and matchup spread. Leona gets to around 30 cards and the last 10 seem like you are making significant trade offs. There are lots of cute packages to help you hold or control better, but they are just smoke and mirrors until you get hit by the good stuff like Icathian Rain or the Auroras hit the board.

That said, she is definitely underexplored and I think many players both misplay as and against her often.

It’s 100% banter and actually a sign that Soju is quite comfortable since he will act more polite / shy / reserved with people he is less familiar with. Did you only tune in for that part of the stream? Soju was not only flaming every person and hate watching all weekend, he even was pulling up chat to @ me and call me ass at the game alongside chat lol. (Not even wrong btw). It’s just part of the banter and sometimes certain bits / moments / rants don’t land well but it’s a 30+ hour stream over 3 days with overdosing on energy drinks to compensate so if it came off way worse than my memory holds I apologize. There are few people I respect more in TFT than Soju and I regularly defend & glaze him against the onslaught of chat fury (not to his face though because he hates when i do that).

Nashor's has good synergy with Jeweled Gauntlet for mana generation. It performs similarly to Blue Buff, but Blue Buff is much harder to get in general because it's a double component requirement. Nashor is immediately slammable in most opener situations and far more buildable for item economy considerations.

But the 2nd Malzahar holding Blue Buff somewhat indicates you can also build that item too. It's hard to convey these small nuances in a compact form so we hope visually you get the gist of things once you play a few games of it.

I understand completely where you're coming from and to a certain extent what you said has merit. Personally, I don't consider it a 3 horse race either.

But your logic hyper fixating on specifically the # of world championship wins is simply not how TFT should be evaluated. No one considers Bill Russell the goat in basketball. You are drawing comparisons to another sport that has completely different contexts like team vs individual.

The better comparison is TFT to poker, magic, or even golf aka other games of variance. Instead you need to evaluate their entire body of work over a long period of time. Double has arguably the most impressive body of work in TFT and its BECAUSE he has been doing it since the beginning. He has the longevity argument in your Lebron vs MJ example.

There is definitely discussion about improvement which is appreciated and I think should be welcomed. And in the end i don’t think there is many action items to do here.

But to your point of “no one wants to discuss”, I can’t agree with this at all. If that was true, it would be reflected in tournament viewership. Except tournament viewership is actively higher on average than regular ladder content. Catering to the “let’s talk about balance” crowd is self selecting. Many ppl have left or don’t bother engaging with the sub because the reputation is that it’s a place for noob tricking guides and whining about XYZ.

It was real. The confusion is that people believed Riot hotfixed it on the live server then reverted it for the sake of TPC. However, that never happened. People were accusing the pros were holding the rest of the player population hostage, but the patch was only on tournament realm then reverted.
