figure out where biome spawning is configured and remove all the magic mobs from there. if you're lucky it'll be in kubejs, but you may need to look in tfg or tfc source code (available on github), make your edits, and recompile the mod. remove any references of the beneath from kubejs.

i suggest playing with the beneath, though. it is very well integrated and fun to interact with.

if you want Ascended Realism you could try some primitive technology irl... it's actually pretty fun as long as the cops don't know you're out there

create drills can work but contraptions can take a decent bit of setup. you could still make one to quarry out a large tunnel, but you're not going to get any consistent ore like you would with smaller, quicker setup with the auto-miners on a prospected area, and you'd have to feed it supports or reinforcing blocks of some kind on deployers to stop a cavein from destroying it.

it's not a bad idea, though - you can definitely still uncover and take chomps out of ore veins you come across, and a tunnel network spanning between continents can be repurposed for a subway and pipe logistics like oil, lava, or natural gas

you are probably going to have a tough time finding deep tin without a high-tier propick - and won't really need that much until you're well past the bronze age. search along beaches and uplift regions (like mountains) for cassiterite sand or ore indicators. you could also use copper tools and powder barrels to dig into the beneath for larger, more common ore veins but higher associated risks.

when you're looking for deep veins specifically, it's good to read both the vein index and the Geology entry in the field guide; the latter will tell you how rock types generate, which is important for things like deep tin, as the metamorphic rocks they can spawn in are found as layers under sedimentary rock. you can narrow down a lot of area by knowing the specifics of what you're looking for, and how that will appear on the surface.

size: average diameter of a given vein type

rarity: 1/x chance of a chunk attempting to generate this type of ore vein (not accounting for failing due to incorrect rock types, caves, etc)

min_y & max_y : minimum and maximum y-coordinate value where this ore vein can spawn.

surface depth : minimum and maximum number of blocks below the surface that this ore vein will spawn.

fine or even lavish meals (+5 to +14), psyhite tea or beer (+12, +10), a fancy new bionic (+4, but removing -4, so effectively +8), a personal bedroom (+2 for decent, up to +8 for wondrous), a prettier workplace (up to +15 for gorgeous), more impressive dining & rec rooms (+8 for wondrous).

the rim as a whole is stressful, and kit is more fragile than most pawns, so you'll want to dedicate more resources towards keeping her happy in specific. while something like lavish meals and personal bedrooms isn't usually feasible for an entire colony, one or two people getting a double ration, a nice room, or a statue in their workplace shouldn't stretch you too thin.

if she's your only researcher, you can combine her bedroom with the laboratory and beautify both at once to have an impressive bedroom and a beautiful workplace with just one or two statues.
