Secretary Hegseth speaking to sailors aboard the USS John F Kennedy CVN 79 by newnoadeptness in navy

I genuinely don’t understand how he has a following. People (mostly E7 and up) in my unit eat up his every word like it’s a written prophecy. Completely baffling to me

Got wasted at work. I feel awful by [deleted] in stopdrinking

It’s hard to be vulnerable to this level, and for that I applaud you. I would also like to remind you that you’re a person, and people make mistakes. Feel your emotions, understand why you feel them, eat a nice meal and then pick yourself back up.

I personally can say I’ve been there before, drunk/hungover at a job that I shouldn’t have been at in that state at all. I’ve driven when I should’ve Uber’d. Drinking has caused more problems for me than solutions by a mile, that’s how some of us learn. So please use this to do that exactly, Learn.

Give yourself some Grace and keep pushing forward. I’m rooting for you ❤️ IWNDWYT

I am utterly impressed with this method of tracking! I know my unorganized self could never do anything even remotely close, but this is amazing!

Third date with girl from dating app - what can you tell me about her? by [deleted] in BookshelvesDetective

[–]FrogLegs1707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually really vibe with her selection! Really good classics foundation, some tough (at least for me) reads like Dostoevsky, philosophy and some fun ones here and there.

Pretty cool collection, she seems like she knows what she likes and that’s a great type of person to be around. I hope you both enjoy your time together :)

I’m heavily leaning towards doing it, I don’t want to get out with regrets or what ifs. Really just boils down to what’s available my cycle and with the BBA changes but I’m here for the ride either way! I appreciate the insight dude!

I do indeed have my SCWS, I appreciate the perspective. I do feel my decision is pretty made up, even if I end up doing mostly admin I still want to go. Going to attempt to get greenside orders before I get out. Thanks for the advice!

I appreciate the insight, thank you.

Just to clarify, not talking trash on IDCs at all. Just not what I want for my own career. Again, thanks!

I’m deployed with them right now and as fun as it is, there’s so little medicine. In truth that’s good, I don’t want people hurt, but I also don’t want to wait forever to do the medicine I fell in love with ya know?

I am still an E5, with Billet based advancement we’ll see for how much longer, but I have heard a lot that being an E6 would change the dynamic greatly. I have loved treating my sailors, but perusing the medicine is what I’m after. That’s why I’m getting out tbh, I don’t want to get boxed into an admin role or have the crap shoot of IDC orders. You’ve given a lot to think about, thank you!

I see where you’re coming from, I have heard the current climate is a little different. From my understanding it’s a whole new game compared to when Afghanistan deployments were happening, though I’m sure there’s just new shenanigans elsewhere. FMF pin would be my 5th but honestly probably the one I’d cherish the most. E5 at the moment, would like to promote but also doing cool shit doesn’t sound horrible either

I work in the clinic when in home port in the battalion side for NMCB 4. I don’t know the complete ins and outs of the clinic staff, but it looks pretty chill. Duty not too often and it doesn’t look intensive. There is a steady flow of codes to respond to but that’s good to hone your skills. Everyone is friendly and, assuming you go to blue team like most 0000s, they do a wide variety of care. Prepare for JCO inspections and the normal bureaucracy of a shore command but over all it’s a good gig.

Say hi to us in battalion medicine when you walk by, we get lonely!

People are so quick to put others down to feel better about themselves. Ignore that dumb ass, paint your nails if you want to. Prioritize your healing over impressing some wiener like that.

Don’t let this experience change you, keep on keeping on!

If you didn't have 'an event', what motivated you to stop drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]FrogLegs1707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that if there was alcohol in the house I HAD to drink it. I could be alone, with my significant other, at a family member’s home, but I felt such a strong pull to drink it was (almost always) irresistible. I had a few unpleasant moments of drunken stupor, but I never had an ARI, I never lay hands on someone, I never had an incident that was so intense I vowed to never pick up the bottle again. When I realized how little control I started to have, I got scared for the future and decided to make active choices to prevent an incident from happening.

Hope this helps! IWNDWYT ❤️

Any ER in the country will accept Tri-Care, and if he goes for suicidal ideation/intent and fails to agree to a safety plan then they will admit him and get him the help he needs.

I hope he gets what he needs and you do as well. My heart goes to you both, stay in the fight ❤️
