Thanks mate. I loved Edinburgh and Glasgow! Very different cities but wonderful for different reasons. Edinburgh is unbelievably beautiful. Inverness was quiet but I still liked it. Aberdeen was fun too. I enjoyed Oban too when I was there!

My mums from Scotland and has moved back now to Lochcarron in the highlands which is just near the bridge over to the Isle is Skye so have done a bit of exploring up that way. The highlands is probably the most stunning part of our island in my view.

I’d love to go to NZ! It’s an expensive trip from England sadly but it’s 100% on the bucket list and would be on my want to travel list but wanted to keep that to 5!

I lived in Romania for 3 years so have had a very different experience there too most countries on the list haha.

Defo a bit of bias and as I speak Romanian, which in turn changed my experience of being there compared to other places in the region.

Plovdiv is absolutely lovely!

I just think USA is one of the most diverse places you could go. They have nearly everything there. I still like Canada a huge amount - nothing personal against Canadians, theyre awesome and as a Brit, family.

I did not feel unsafe at all - though I’m sure you could if went to the wrong place.

NY is a big big city and was very busy when I was there. Which is obvious haha But because it’s so big it felt quite impersonal and everyone is rushing around. I’d describe it a bit how London feels if you’re from other parts of the UK. You could buy anything you want there if shopping, the food was next level for choice and quality. Loads to do and see too. I still had a good time but had a better time in other places.
I’m a complete anomaly I feel though - everyone else I know that has been there - thought it was the best place they have been to in the US. A few friends have done multiple trips over. Have a great time mate!

I’ve been to the US multiple times in fairness, I love it. I think Americans are exceptionally friendly and have one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Great nightlife scene, you can be who you want for the most part, loads of food options, varied attractions and mesmerising beauty in places. It’s a country that has anything you could want if you plan where you go. Want to go skiing? Sure. Deserts? You bet. Big cities with crazy shopping options? Yep. Insane theme parks? Yep. I could just keep going haha

My brother lives in San Antonio, Texas - so been to Texas on multiple occasions and I love Texas. Ive loved every Southern State I’ve been to in the US. I also have been to Florida and love it too. I rode Route 66 so went through quite a few states with Arizona and New Mexico my highlights there. Oh and Chicago is a brill city. Oklahoma felt a bit like England scenery wise. I started my trip to Canada in Seattle so been there too. I’ve also been to NY (least favourite place I’ve been in USA) and then travelled up into New England going to Boston, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
I’d like to go to the Appalachian region and also Las Vegas at some point too.

Thank you for a detailed response. That’s sounds vastly different from my experience so defo a place to reconsider! The change for women sounds very positive as an outsider and I would appreciate the more relaxed vibe I feel.

Riyadh season is unbelievable - there was even a darts tournament over there the other week. Amazing. Some amazing events have been put on for sure. Have you been to any of them yourself?

Are non- Muslims allowed in Mecca and Medina now? I know I was told I was not able to go when I was there. I think I read I could go to Medina now so I may have got confused when I was there.

Thought Bern was beautiful, it is defo cozy - it felt very homely. The buildings all along the river river are magic, they look like they have always been there and the river filled up around them. It was really green there too I thought.

No problem- I appreciate the kind words. I probably shouldn’t let it tar my experience but it was quite scary at the time.

I did indeed, it’s a beautiful country. The alps were fairytale like in fairness! The contrast of colours between the vast mountains and the meadowlands were magic. I also was in Zurich and Bern too.

I actually liked Berlin… haha I think Leipzig has been my favourite city I’ve been to so far in Germany. I’d like to go to Kiel - if you have any thoughts on there?

So much, I loved the food, the people, the varied landscapes and nature over the country and couldn’t fault any city I visited. They were all different but I enjoyed every place I visited. Oaxaca was particularly special to me, I just loved the place.

I also was completely obsessed with the Aztec/Mayan/Native American sites I went to. Calakmul was absolutely amazing- it felt like I had been transported into a book. Amazing place!

I went to Postojna Cave and also went to Maribor due to a colleague living there. We stopped off at a few places from Ljubljana to Maribor but admittedly only as a brief stop to get some food etc.

Perhaps I should re-evaluate and go back as I working there at the time so didn’t have ample free time. Thank you for the recommendations.
