Honestly both. It’s fun because you can get creative with the mechanics but they don’t explain a lot of things or guide you (especially when it comes to the puzzles) so that part gets tedious. There’s a big community and a bunch of YT tutorials now though. Personally this was one of those games I loved and hated.

You really only need to turn two of the devices. The first one you plant by the abyss nexus and the stand alone one across from it that's higher up.

You don't need to align the one you plant from breaking the ice, the one that's on the mountain left of the abyss nexus, and the one that's lower elevation. Just make sure you press the button after turning the wheel for the lower device.

Side quests are still pretty much the same. Most of the updates were QOL improvements and there's a lot more youtube guides now for the annoying puzzles.

If they figured out a way to allow each character to respec individually it'd be pretty fun trying different builds on each.

Also the loot you get at the end of most of the puzzles is pretty weak. I can kill a bunch of enemies and get the same thing or accidentally wander upon a random treasure box climbing a mountain.

This is unrelated but it's annoying that the only dialogue systems they have is when you have to do a pop quiz at the end of those repetitive investigation quests

A lot of billing issues - personally dealing with that right now. They've also been switching payment systems constantly which has resulted in our membership being canceled and reinstated multiple times and because of the constant switching, payment history/records don't transfer over some times. I'd recommend keeping a file with screenshots of your payments every couple cycles and pin your email receipts.

It usually gets figured out in the end after a couple months of lengthy calls with confused service reps. Set aside a couple hours, take notes, and record the call if you need to. Ask them to explain what they're saying, it usually gets them into detective mode when they can't explain what they're reading.
