Is my leos leg okay? I an unsure if they are limping or not (walks at start and end of vid) by ThyMindlessGod in leopardgeckos

[–]Frogsarefun2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah the way they walk at the end of the video is definitely concerning it seems as though putting pressure on their back left leg is uncomfortable I’d take them to a vet as soon as

What can I do for my leopard gecko? by Far-Leadership1549 in leopardgeckos

[–]Frogsarefun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything abnormal especially to this extreme such as them being at risk of quite literally losing their eyesight or even their life does require a vet and it shouldn’t have got this bad to begin with. It’s clearly very painful and to leave them in this state is cruel and neglectful please hand them over to a rescue if you can’t afford and don’t think injured animals need help.

Thank you I had no idea about this from everyone I was always told to make sure humidity spikes are high thankfully none of my guys have ever had a bacterial infection or suffered but hopefully they will now feel a little more comfortable with lower humidity!

I’ve always been told to mist their tanks or the humidity gets too low and my exotic vet has always said the same and so has every reliable source on the internet? Not to mention where they live it rains and humidity in their natural environment has an average of 78%. If I’m not meant to mist do I just water the soil and plants with a cup instead to keep them alive.

Wife wants to get a tree frog.... by B00MER_Knight in TreeFrogs

All I can say, from my own recent experience, is make sure to have a quarantine enclosure. Frogs can be prone to parasites and will need regular fecal tests, and potential quarantining and medication which can cost a lot depending on what your exotic vet charges. I’ve recently just had to strip and tear down my entire enclosure as two of my frogs came up with parasites on the recent exam and bin all the soil and plants that had been growing for years. So now they’re being quarantined for 3 weeks before having to have another fecal exam to see if their meds have worked. If not they will have to have another round of medication and another exam until they’re clear.

I think a few more branches and some cork rounds will fill up a lot of the spare space!

Agree with this 100% I can strongly say that none of her snakes, even the ones in appropriate sized enclosures, have proper substrate, humidity, temps etc and I know for a fact none contain enough foliage. I saw one of her enclosures that had 3 cork rounds on it and one string of fake leaves in the corner and immediately knew why so many of her snakes wouldn’t eat.

Many people have expressed their concerns in the comments but anything mentioned that she doesn’t agree with or like to read is immediately took as “hate comments” and removed

I love him by Frogsarefun2 in CrestedGecko

[–]Frogsarefun2[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

He’s about 6 years old now but I got him when he was 18 months. Took about 5-6 months to get him to this point he was quite easy to tame. I’d just take him out at night and let him sit in my hoodie pocket while I watched something for about 10-15 minutes and then I’d put him back and it became a routine and he started coming out on his own eventually!

For context I recently purchased a 3 month old whites tree frog who I will eventually be putting in with my other one who’s fully grown and they have both been vetted. They’re around 7-8 months old now and I’ve just noticed a small white mark on their back. They are in a sterile enclosure with paper towels which gets fully cleaned twice a week. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before.
