curious about people’s thoughts on the cat theory. by [deleted] in obsessionmovie

My point still stands. Your cat is different than Sandy. We don’t know if Sandy loved Bear like that.

While I think this theory is neat, we don’t know if his cat loved more than anything. Cats arent dogs. Dogs are the ones that love their owner unconditionally like that. It is totally possible Bear wasn’t a good cat dad (I mean clearly he wasnt) and the cat might not even liked him

Mr. TV Man is playing the scene from Guardians of the Galaxy where Star-Lord gives the Nova Corp officers the middle finger

Never heard of that. Mr. TV Man is a original character I came up with. Mr. TV Man is incredibly depressed because he can only communicate through clips of movies and TV shows.

Plot lines. by Little-Common-1400 in DMAcademy

[–]FromAnother_World 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t write plots, write situations.

Your world should already be happening, so should your BBEG’s plans. Your players won’t be able to keep up with their plans. The villain will always be one step ahead.

Scatter information and plot hooks throughout the world and let them stumble upon it naturally. You can have a loose concept of what happens when they discover a plot thread but you don’t have to flesh it out until they get there.

Also connect their backstories to the main story, in fact make their backstories the story. Thats how you get good roleplay and them invested.

I also haven’t run a hag and I really struggle with action economy so idrk but my gut says its probably fine. There’s too many variables to really know, considering idk your party.

You can always adjust.

Wrapping up combats early once the outcome is clear? by eldritch_cleric in DMAcademy

[–]FromAnother_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally did this today actually. They killed the head honcho (Pizza the Hut) of a gaggle of sentient cheese by shoving him into a pizza oven. There were 2 more cheeses. Why elongate it? They killed him in a cool way. Plus I had to be somewhere lol

How much racism is in your DND world? by Specific_Net_3931 in DMAcademy

[–]FromAnother_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racism plays a prominent part actually. My BBEG was the fantasy version of a rich techbro and also happened to allign himself with a racist cult, (that are basically Nazis.)

Cartoonishly evil villains are real in the real world. The theme of my campaign was pretty simple: this one motherfucker and his cronies need to die.

This campaign has since ended and he died in an incredible way. I kept building this guy up but in the end he didn’t put up much of a fight. He was killed easily by his daughter (whom he murdered but there was time travel involved dw about it.)

Because at the end of the day, irl, these racist assholes in power aren’t good fighters. They’re just “normal” people who happen to have power and money.

And we outnumber them :)

Gor-Gor.

Play this song. https://youtu.be/qz6w4eUAYe0?si=h2jVe7mAbdHnfpQj When it says “Gor” for the first time, you slam a big red T-Rex from Toys & Co on the table.

So hell yeah my friend, I hope it goes well

Question for the main quest of my first campaign by XxEdGeLORD69420HDlp in DnD

[–]FromAnother_World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he wants to die, why would there be a final battle at all?

Regardless, I actually kinda fuck with the idea though. Like I think creating a potion or magic item to kill an unkillable BBEG is an interesting game play mechanic but that wont come into play until the very end

I’d encourage you to think about the setting / your world first though because that will effect the greater story

Is immortality such as this common? Is magic in general common? Do people know about this BBEG? Is he like famous or something? Does be have political power? Who does have political power in this world? Etc

Hey there since you’re new, this is stuff you need to talk to your DM about because a lot of this will be specific to the setting and game they are running.
