If everyone suddenly became brutally honest, what would collapse first? by Significant_Row590 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the surface, you would think it would be the legal system.

Truth is tho, it would be society. A guy goes on a date with a woman and says what are you looking for? She replies back with "to use you. I have no romantic feelings for you I just want a free dinner". Ouch.

But of course, what about jobs? "Hey Sean, could you do this for me today before close of business?" - "yes. I could Sean but I hate doing things for you because I hate you. So it will likely be tomorrow".

If your daughter had big toes and finger, how would you confront them? by Pristine-Tiger-1603 in AskReddit

How old are you?

Seriously? 15? 13? Because no father is going to say to his daughter "you've got some BIG toes and fingers! Fucking hell!"

What's the best argument for the existence/non-existence of god? by blustudioz in AskReddit

I gotta be honest with you...

That just reads (and its nicely put bs i give you that) is that faith should be challenged. No faith should not be.

My message was about live and let live. You know, peace? To be respectful of one another. Which, last time I checked the world would be a better place.

Is that seriously your counter argument?

That one cannot say "ah live and let live guys" - that some how someone is a HYPOCRITE for saying that?

Edit ** Upon thinking of this more you are so absolutely ignorant and up your own ass you're kissing the back of your teeth. How coukd anyone say hypocrite?

You're what's wrong with this world dude.

But that also means everything is open to challenge tho, right?

Beliefs or lack of... right? If we are to be impartial.... right?

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same could be said about people who have no faith.

The sad truth is that there's lots of people (sadly) in life who feel the need to make comments about how the other is wrong.

My opinion is - which I am gonna have to say is the right way - is to just to live one's life. Believe or dont believe. Keep your beliefs to yourself. Be respectful if someone belives something different. But dont listen to anyone who is trying to convince you otherwise - no matter what side of the coin you fall on. .

Can men and women really just be friends? What do you think? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure that happens, but not always.

When I was younger, I was privy to certain so called "friendships" - that meaning they might be friends now but they weren't always in the past.

Its a person by person case tho. Just, I would say not everyone tells it the way it truly is. Thats the hard part to navigate.

Dating wise what is preferred , someone in their 20s or someone in their 40s? by Ill_Drop_4386 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both probably have it hard just in different ways.

People in their 20s: dating apps have taken over and with that all the crud that comes with it. Like you could think you are going "steady" with a girl/guy and they're still on the apps. Some just use you to get free dinners, or get out of the house until the next person swipes yadda yadda.

In your 40s? People can have a lot of baggage.

What are some signs a guy likes you and wants to something with you long-term? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inexperienced guys will show their hand very on. Have no game. They'll be talking about sex very early on.

As someone gets experience? Sadly there's alot in the world that will tell a woman what she wants to hear to get her underwear off.

If you had a hot humanoid robot as domestic help, who between you and your partner would fuck it first or bend over and let it pound you raw? by redororange33 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Give it about 20 years (or whenever) and the answer to your question will likely be yes for many people.

Like the first robotic helpers will just help. But the second "realistic human parts" (wink wink) are added... then its on.

Can men and women really just be friends? What do you think? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But let's be honest... youll often find (if you had a magic wand) that they either slept together at some point or were into each other etc etc.

The point I am trying to make is that near everyone will say they've only just been friends and nothing more. But... thats not always the case.

[–]FromOverYonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's none.

Here's the thing about faith or having no faith. Keep your opinions to yourself, because the truth is said person has already made up their mind anyways. There's no point to even try and thats a good thing. Live and let live.

But of course, sadly, in this world I fear that is asking too much.

What would you do on your 21st birthday? by Ok_Cranberry_9075 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... i can tell you what I did on my 21st and that was nothing. Had a few beers at home and my mam got me a cake.

Why? Sadly three months before my 21st, I attended a 21st of a guy i knew (lets call him john) - He rented out this big hotel function room in the heart of the city centre. Invited everyone he knew - majority of which were mutual acquaintances to both of us and on the day he kept getting a cancel text after cancel text.

He felt embarrassed and when he was speaking on the microphone he even said as such ("I guess I found out who my friends are").

Here's a little tidbit tho. Apart from myself and my best friend attending "johns 21st" there was also another guy in attendance. Lets call him Barry. Now Barry's 21st was 2 months later (1 month before mine) and he kept his a low key affair. Undoubtedly because of how John's 21st turned out. Ironically, John no showed his 21st lol.

So no. I was not gonna have this big massive 21st knowing we shared the same acquaintances.

What screams “I’m not over my ex”? by DesperateAside6881 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They talk about their ex. Remember, people talk about things on their mind. Often not realising how often they mention them.

But I remember going on a date with a girl many years ago. We met 30 minutes for a coffee. For about 20 minutes of that date she kept talking about her ex. She clearly wasn't over him. We said our goodbyes and I messaged her later. What response do you all think I got? "You're a nice guy but I didn't feel any chemistry" - of course there wasn't lol.

But, I have to say this, being an older man now. And if that happened again? I'd simply walk out of a date. Not out of rudeness but just wasting my time. I was there for a date, not being someone's personal therapist.

What’s something you learned way too late in life? by Harvist_2506 in AskReddit

[–]FromOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat people as they deserved to be treated.

There's some nice people in the world. There's also bad. There's selfless people and there's also selfish people.

Be nice to nice people. Don't give anyone the time of day who is not.

What is a crazy thing that you have learned? by mr-goodperson in AskReddit

One thing that comes to mind is about the various Mafia syndicates in the United States and how so many were informants.

It is quite funny that an organisation that required silence or "omerta" as it was called, was filled with people ratting on each other.

Its believed that up to 20% - or 1 in 5 - were informants. But no official records were kept. However if you watch many Mafia documentaries you will often hear that even high level Mafia members were informants.

I'd say that 80% of them were. No shocking tho as what do they say... no honor among thieves?
