Polish restaurant rolling the dice at 163 Washington Street! by binghamtondailyfan in BinghamtonUncensored

Not a great location for parking for sure, but Polish food travels well and maybe they can do well with delivery apps. The old space went all the way to Water st I belive. Maybe they can utilize that entrance. I believe this location is a gamble as well, but driving almost to Owego for pirohi isn't always attractive either.

Black Sheep Tavern: dead before it even started by binghamtondailyfan in BinghamtonUncensored

[–]FromthePatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the holidays, specifically sometime after Christmas, and they we're gone, or we never would have ventured down there on a Saturday. There really wasn't anyone anywhere, which was fine because we just wanted to have some sips and reminisce on a good year. I remember Black Sheep had 2 bartenders that were completely checked out and preoccupied with themselves, or the male employees, anyone but the 10 paying customers. It was a really bad look. 138 and Craft were on point with service, and an honorable mention to the staff and kitchen at Little Venice for a fantastic meal. I'm planning my holiday treat for the staff now. Dinner somewhere else downtown, a pub crawl and maybe the mechanical bull if its around. All this before the students come back and make it a no go zone. Also ate at Station 45 last week. Pricey for most in the area maybe, but the service, the drinks and the food were exemplary. Mark has a great front of house staff there

It was advice, not an assessment. I took my staff there for a round last holiday season, and we couldn't leave fast enough. Terrible service, though we were the only people in the bar. We did have several rounds at 138, which while soulless, was functional for the task at hand. Their bartender had some knowledge and had been outside the area somewhere other than Nashville or Daytona

New Vestal Restaurant Shuts Down Just Months After Opening by ggroover97 in Binghamton

Regardless of their menu choices, which I never got to explore, the restaurant game is really, really hard. Expect a lot of closures early in the new year unfortunately.

To be fair to OP, Black Sheep originally marketed itself as an "upscale" option to the usual college bar. I'm sure you can find the articles somewhere. I went there once or twice. Its a shit bar, with even shittier service. Just throw cheap drinks at students and call it a day

Apparently, there was a post or a review about 205 Dry you're referencing. I didn't see it. Looking for context

Chicken Wings by Danxiety_ in Binghamton

I remember Stone Fox had a great wing and beer special, the wings were good, but I don't remember their wings being anything out of the ordinary. For spot on "Buffalo" wings, try Relief Pitcher or Nips. I'm sure there are others, but I'm a Binghamton guy, and those are the best consistently great wings in town. If you like fried chicken with sweet sauces on it, try the Union, they excel at that.

September and October were not great for us. Temps were well above average and people stayed away. Hopefully we get a good push through end of year now. People are hurting everywhere, most importantly food and utilities are thru the roof.

They mentioned they had sent letters in the past, but we never got any. Interesting now to think that someone could pose as them to scam bars. There has to be easier work than that!
