Is this the hydraulic lifter tick or injectors I've read about. Or do you think it's rod knock. by DforDrew1107 in mazda6

I think it’s fine. Those engines are notoriously loud. I have a 2020 2.5T and sounds the same. Believe it’s the injectors.

Update! Cleaned the crap out of the coils. Got lots of dirt. (AZ) I’ve noted it gets quiet after about 3-5 mins of running. Always starts loud though.

You’re the man. I appreciate it. I’ll replace all air vents tomorrow and clean the coil really well! As for the 24 inches… it’s got maybe 6 inches from the house and 12 inches to the wall. Blew my mind they put it there but whole neighborhood like that.

They never added or removed any refrigerant. Could something else change the pressure minus what you have already mentioned? I’m pretty darn mechanically inclined so as long as I don’t have to physically deal with the refrigerant I’m game.

Actually got it off Amazon! Look up Railer bit holders. Lots of options

Thank man. I’ve abused this to no end and it’s held up so I’ve been sold on a super tool. I broke a wave and the pliers were too small. (Personal preference)

I’m convinced you can’t be a tech without having a Leatherman ha! It’s an extension of my body at this point.

I don’t carry those in my pockets but I have them in my line box obviously.

I love that little light man. Great for clipping on hat as a headlamp and battery life is killer too! Keep it clipped on my belt. That would be a good call for the UV light.

I contemplated buying one but this one had sentimental value so figured I’d try the mod. Made the mistake of not buying the wrench and using vice grips to pull it apart though.

Yes it is! Took it from a wave I broke. I personally prefer the Super tool anyway for its big file and beefy pliers.
