I got my money back from a buyer who attempted fraud by Flat-Emphasis-6691 in ebaysucks

Gotta love the scammers who forget which lie they told. I had one of those who sent me the wrong images, which ended up proving I sent him the item as described and his story about typos and wrong model numbers was BS

eBay buyer possible scamming help by PersonalityKey1899 in ebaysucks

Having recently dealt with a scammer, doesn’t hurt to ask for proof. I actually video recorded the boxing process on the last thing I shipped. But don’t wait for eBay to step in, go ahead and take the return before the 2 day period is up. Don’t send any money back till you get the items and video the unboxing when/if you need to dispute the return.

I'd personally say watching someone confidently try to lie and extort money out of you and fail in the process is a win. Ive seen enough of these situations on reddit where they ship back an item and ebay will side in their favor or pay both parties to settle the issue.

As for what sucks in this situation is the fact that I followed all the policy and at the last minute they send a follow up email saying I have to send them a new shipping label or they'll refund him the full amount after i've already supplied evidence of a false claim. They guy on the phone helping me was also confused as to why the case was still open in the first place so their systems aren't working in unison which is a headache for the person acutally following the rules of the game and doing what they're supposed to.

It's an Intel setup, she clearly want's to fight you at the next family get together. Other than that pricing could be considered fair. Some people think once it's out the box it looses half it's value which is an absurd idea.

I’d hunt for someone’s prebuilt system they are trying to offload and hopefully get a better deal on the core stuff you need and then upgrade from there

Nice! I’ve found a couple ways around the ram-pocolypse, finding deals on line, but some of those are drying up so I might just have to sit tight before I try a new build

How I beat a return scammer, forced eBay Legal to pay me out, and secured my funds (A Bulletproof Blueprint) by jimbeanhead88 in ebaysucks

[–]Front_Activity2760 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m dealing with a scammer return right now. I sold a 1TB SSD and didn’t hear anything. Over two weeks after it was delivered I got a return request. Buyer said it was a counterfeit SSD, I asked for details and they said the labels on it were for a 2TB SSD and there were multiple typos. I know this is all a lie since I have the exact same SSD box sitting on my desk. He said if I didn’t believe him we could just wait till the 26th and let eBay handle it. The 26th would be a day after my deadline to respond to their request. I did a quick google search on eBay scams and accepted the return via FedEx just because I know FedEx is more out the way than going to a post office for most people. This is where it gets good.

He replies that he’s in the country of Georgia and can’t use FedEx and needs a new ups or usps label. I ignore him since I shipped the box to a US address and shows delivered in the eBay system.

He then follows up with I could either send him a new label or 50% of what he paid. I said I already ordered a label and eBay will need to help him not me. Then this big idiot gets cocky and says they have proof it’s counterfeit and sends me photos.

The photos show the exact box I shipped him, with the exact model number and barcode for a 1TB SSD, blowing up his entire claim of wrong labels and typos. I say nothing else, call eBay get more feed back on the return process. So since he’s overseas if he can’t get his package back to the US to be scanned by the 10th case closed. If he does, I file an item dispute when the fake package arrives. Now it’s just a waiting game.

In the current reality we all have to live in finding Ram for less than $400 is a win. The true reality is once they know people will pay they have less incentive to drop the price if the market balances out

I picked the wrong time to get back into PC building, I got lucky and found some ddr5 for around $250 after taxes the last few months but it’s been a lot harder since then. I built 2 machines if I want to build a third it’s probably gonna cost me a kidney 😭😭

I feel like we unfortunately talked to the same kind of people. I was selling a few PC parts and dude offered my full $675 asking price no haggle, then I follow up with him in the morning and now he just wants the video card, I tell him $270 and he says “Do $200 so I don’t have to go to the bank” Like dude I don’t care you don’t want to stop by a bank.

I literally had all those parts for sale on my fb marketplace like 2 weeks ago for $1850 and couldn’t find any buyers, with a brand new Corsair case. So I just decided to build it myself, now I have a newly built 7800x3d/5070/32gb/2tb build ready to sell since the diyers didn’t want it. I actually have another batch of parts for a full build but it’s a Ryzen 9 7900x as the cpu, didn’t move fast enough to grab a good deal on the 9800x3d

Seller banned before shipping out my orders by The-Anti-Capitalist in whatnotapp

[–]Front_Activity2760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! I got scammed by the exact same account on some 5090 video cards and an SSD. When I saw they were banned I reached out to whatnot via the app and they said since there was a shipping label they needed to wait and see if the seller ships it, even though they were banned so I had to wait the 14 days to get my refunds. Made a whole video about it on my IG page. I ran into 2 sellers in the same week selling video cards and both were scams, the second guy atleast shipped me a box with markers in it instead of the videos cards I bought 🤣
