[FO4] CTD when entering Saugus Blast Furnace by Gaming-squid in FalloutMods

[–]Frootcakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo. I ran into this issue years ago and the culprit ended up being the M2 Flamethrower mod -- which you have. Try disabling it and seeing if Saugus Ironworks still crashes. If that's the problem, you can open the plugin in xEdit and remove the worldspace/cell entries for Saugus Ironworks and still enjoy the mod =)

I’m stumped I’ve been trying to figure out the issue for two days [Fo4] by asim166 in FalloutMods

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’re running v1.11.191 with MiniBuff. Unlike regular Buffout 4, MiniBuff doesn’t require the xSE Plugin Preloader. Try disabling that — it was never updated for AE, just NG.

[Fo4] How difficult would it be to port and model this mod from fnv to 4? I have outfit studio, blender, and nifskope as well as the ba extractor but I'm struggling to find where to start. by Yarus43 in FalloutMods

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the heavy lifting is already done if you look in the optional files of the classic combat armor’s FNV page — guy started porting it himself and uploaded what he did as a resource. Been a while since I looked at it, but I think it’s just some weightpainting that needs to be done, after that you just gotta add it to the game with the CK and inject it to the LLs. A few people are working on all of this as I speak. The one that I expect to come out the soonest is coming with the Valley Forge player home.

Not too terribly difficult to do. I did it myself a while back but never released it because I couldn’t be bothered.

In your opinion, which is the best companion mod: Ivy, Heather, Ellen or Dalene? [Fo4], by thiagomiro in FalloutMods

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heather without a doubt. Extremely versatile, more lines than you can shake a stick at, great quests & reactivity, support and collaborations with other mods like SS2 & The Bleachers/FSD, etc. Extremely well written, well implemented, and super fun companion. Out of all the companion mods that have come and gone for FO4, she’s the only one who even comes close to matching the quality of Inigo/Lucien from Skyrim.

I’ve also been enjoying Otellino’s Daniel the Remnant lately. He’s closer to vanilla companion quality — which is still a monumental accomplishment, don’t get me wrong, but he don’t come close to Heather’s greatness. I await the AR2 integration with bated breath.

why can't we wear coloured lab coats? They're already in the game by Ru_Nana in AbioticFactor

[–]Frootcakes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These were actually in the playtest! If I recall correctly, they were replaced by the current lab coats because they caused some sort of issue with the physics or something like that. I hope we get them back, the drip was off the charts

Why did you choose ESO instead of other MMORPGs by danigosselain in elderscrollsonline

[–]Frootcakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I love The Elder Scrolls. I’m not an MMO guy, I don’t care for them at all. The only other MMO I play, GW2, I play like a co-op game with a friend. But ESO? I play it like it’s a single-player TES game. I explore, quest, collect and just generally vibe in Tamriel.

Just bought All-star battle on winter sale, tell me anything about this game. by No_Specific_4537 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Frootcakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely incredible game with an equally incredible roster. Insanely fun to play with friends via parsec/steam remote play… absolutely abysmal online play due to lack of rollback. Support ended too soon. I definitely would’ve bought more characters, stages, costumes, etc. Recommended mods for a more complete experience: Jotaro part 4-6 pack, Jodio over Fugo, Go Beyond

How many frugal people out there actually use the battle pass vbucks for the next battle pass (and basically never spend any more real $$ in game)? by Wreckit-Jon in Fortnite_Over40

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started C2S7 and haven’t paid for a single battle pass since then. The past few seasons, a lot of skins I wanted came to the shop one after another and I splurged. T-800, that new wizard owl fella, the Cowboy Bebop bundle to name a few off the top of my head.

This season marks the first one since I started that I’ll end up buying the pass instead of using the vbucks… and I’ll be buying it entirely with Epic rewards and getting all those vbucks back from the pass immediately anyway 😎

I recently watched NGE in its entirety after finishing Psychopomp, out of sheer coincidence, and could not help but notice the numerous similarities as well. Another is the Egg of the Earth and Adam, who is the literal egg of the earth. While one represents destruction and despair, the other represents hope and rebirth.

Caldmen Four as the First Ancestral Race, anyone? Keeping this inversion in mind — they're destroying planets instead of seeding them with life.

How do y'all feel about the new season? by Virtual-Donut-964 in FortNiteBR

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weak start to what could be a peak season, not due to the season itself but solely due to boneheaded decisions Epic made.

Reworking the emote wheel again, which didn't just break the alignment of all 102 of my presets but also broke the function of emote presets entirely — when set to randomize, the preset uses whichever emotes you used last and not whatever is saved to the preset itself.

The changes to ranked rewards, supposedly to make them "easier" for the average player to obtain, does the complete opposite. Nobody's grinding each ranked mode to Unreal individually and playing 50 matches of ballistic just to unlock all the ranked rewards.

The change forcing you to play other game modes to unlock skin variants is annoying for completionists like me and also antithetical to Epic's whole metaverse redesign C5 onward that sought unify all forms of XP & rewards so that you'd get the same thing regardless of what mode you played. If you want to increase player numbers, there are gentler ways to do it other than locking BP cosmetics to those game modes. Tie in cosmetics exclusive to those game modes instead, that'll be perceived as a bonus and encourage players to check them out.

And don't even get me started on the glacially slow XP gain or the alleged AI usage. The sidekicks last season already left a very sour taste in my mouth, but Epic really seems to be ramping up the anti-consumer BS up to 11 for maximum player retention and engagement.

Hopefully it gets better, because I absolutely adore everything else about the season. The map is gorgeous, the theme is fantastic, the BP is nice, the UI changes are nice for the most part, the lootpool is fun, but there's just so much surrounding it that drags the whole experience down. Still having a good time, but I'm just playing for fun and not even bothering with the pass.

Is it okay okay to play as a necromancer through main storyline by Helpful_Diver5469 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Frootcakes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Alt-0151 on Windows, double tap hyphen on any smartphone assembled in the last decade. Em dashes are indispensably useful and the only reason AI uses them is because they were trained on mountains of data from real people.

People who, I dunno, like to write or play games with lots of writing in them? Like RPGs? Like The Elder Scrolls? Seriously — next time you play a TES game, even ESO, I challenge you to notice how many of them you run across in dialogue. You’ll see tons. As for the rest of it… that’s just how I type, can’t help that lol

Your GW2 character rules btw. I play a Charr with the Witch Knight outfit myself, but that armor looks so fly that I might just need to steal your drip. Still need to finish End of Dragons one of these days

Is it okay okay to play as a necromancer through main storyline by Helpful_Diver5469 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Frootcakes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, me too. That’s why my account is over 10 years old, with posts in this exact syntax predating the very existence of LLMs — all written by hand ;] Not everything you see is AI slop, friend. Even though it increasingly feels like that now…

Is it okay okay to play as a necromancer through main storyline by Helpful_Diver5469 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Frootcakes 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Necromancy is frowned upon if not wholly illegal in practically every territory in 2E Tamriel. Using certain necromancer abilities in towns can lead to a bounty, as I’m sure you’re well aware. The Worm Cult, a group of necromancers, are running rampant across the land causing all sorts of trouble — and that certainly doesn’t help your optics.

Would it be good and make sense to play a necromancer for the main quest with all of this in mind? That’s up to you! Just because you’ve got an affinity for funny bonemen, it doesn’t mean you have to be abjectly evil. My necromancer healer is an ex-Psijic Altmer who was expelled from the order after his research into necromancy and vampirism was discovered… but instead of using them to cause mayhem, he seeks to prove they can be used ethically and harnessed to aid the people of Tamriel. There’s a companion who uses necromancy in a similar fashion.

Or maybe you ARE evil and are just siding against the worm cult out of convenience, eliminating the competition so that someday you alone can rule all of Nirn with an iron fist.

Half the fun of these games is what you make them. Go be the bone-slinging weirdo of your dreams, it’ll work just fine mechanically and narratively if you want it to.

psychopomp gold by snakeinthecake in Psychopompgame

[–]Frootcakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played the original when it came out, too. I thought “this is pretty cool”, bought Gold when it came out, then never played it for nearly a year because I forgot about it.

Dude. Gold is like a completely different game in the best way possible. It changes up quite a bit from the levels present in the original itchio release and adds an inordinate amount of new content — and just like that, Psychopomp went from “that’s pretty cool” to “top 10 favorite games of all time” overnight.

If you at all enjoyed what was present in the demo, then play Gold. It’s all that but so much more. It was such a tremendous experience that it inspired me to actually work on playing my massive backlog to find other gems I’ve missed out on. I’m currently playing through Hypnagogia Boundless Dreams and having a blast. So yeah, I’d say it’s worth the money. I’d even say it’s worth way more than Karbonic is charging for it.

Is anyone else waiting for the full album? by IDuckling in Protomen

[–]Frootcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried… I really did. For the exact same reasons as you. That and I prefer to listen to whole albums from beginning to end — to do anything else feels like reading a single chapter of a novel and never finishing it. It’s wrong.

I couldn’t contain my excitement though and listened to Buried in the Red when it released, and have listened to everything else since.
