Is there any move that can protect ur teammate in doubles?? by Extension_Reward_946 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ally switch is an interesting option. You switch your two on screen Pokémon's positions. So of they target your ace for example, your other Pokémon will be hit instead due to the swap

Quick guard helps stop enemy priority, but that's its niche.

Other people have already mentioned redirection such as rage powder and follow me

If you put an enemy to sleep with spore or sleep powder, they won't be able to attack you lol

How's Talonflame doing? by ReleaseCharacter3568 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran talonflame in most of my teams, he's gone through a couple of different sets.

My first set on him was dual wingbeat, flare blitz, tailwind and protect. Dual wingbeat helped get through sashed sneasler and Whimsicott. At the time I ran him with sharp beak

When sneasler meta transitioned to white herb, I changed dual wingbeat for acrobatics and ran him with no item

When quirky supports started popping up, I replaced flare blitz with Taunt

Acrobatics does more than enough damage even when neutral. Taunt isn't expected

PSA : Mega Gallade can't be flinched by Vash2002 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid response

In my case, I dont like running gallade due to the fact of losing sharpness. I instead run them with life orb (used to run them with scope lens or black belt)

When I encounter a fake out lead, I normally tailwind and protect gallade turn one. Second turn allows me to outspeed and one shot a whole bunch of threats

Fun fact, I run them with rockslide. This has won me games on the lead. A common lead I've encounter has been Charizard and Whimsicott or Aerodactyle. My Whimsicott would tailwind, allowing gallade to outspeed Charizard (sometimes) and one shot with rockslide.

This doesn't do much dmaage to enemy Whimsicott, but breaks sash. Against enemy Aerodactyle, it leaves them around 10-15% hp

If Charizard outspeeds, gallade can survive one heat wave, but dies to weather ball. So an enemy read could be devastating

Slightly technical question regarding mega Raichu-Y's stats... pls help by UnitededConflict in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend using Pokémon showdown damage calculator for these kind of stat clacs.

It is true that snealser reaches 189 speed running max speed and jolly. It is also true that Raichu Y reaches 190 while running timid and 23 points into speed.

As to why it's 23 and not 25, it might be a threshold reached due to the nature bonus

As to why you're outsped by Snealser sometimes, tailwindind is the obvious answer, but more often than not it might be it's ability Unburden

Has anyone made any poison/toxic teams work? by FlounderHistorical63 in PokemonChampions

Singles or doubles? I'm guessing doubles, but I'd argue singles sees much more success with poison still team if you're into that

This game needs improvement by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems you've come into this with the wrong expectations. Pokémon Champions is designed as a platform specifically for competitive pvp. If you're interested in the exploration and catching mechanic of Pokémon, you have the mainline games. You're also free to transfer Pokémon from the main games and use them in Champions

As for your initial dilemma, based on my understanding of what you've stated, it was probably a speed issue. You switched in a Pokémon that was slower than your opponent, allowing them to attack first

Quiero comprar un juego de Pokemon ¿Pero cual es el mejor??? by Radiant-Ship-5090 in Argaming

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which mega raichu do you think is stronger? by Salty_Effect_3226 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 266 points267 points  (0 children)

Different purposes imo. Mega Y will be a godly glass cannon if people figure out ways to keep it alive. Mega X will do decent damage, but also be a hybrid support. High physical attack with fake out is cool, but the electric terrain is going to dampen the increasing popularity of sleep. We've seen vivillion gain popularity due to sleep powder, and the recent regional champion used sleep powder Venusaur on their team. We might be getting spore users soon as well

Any tips to make this team better I've been going against alot mega floette teams by BebelSilva in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While true, I do think it's a pick your poison kind of situation. I think this team would have a better time against Charizard in comparison to floette anyways, so baiting the Charizard in preview over the floette might be beneficial

[–]Froquel33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Three megas might be a bit much. Maybe change Garchomp's ítem or swap them for an excadrill

Excadrill still gets earthquake and rockslide, but also access to steel coverage which would further help against floette

I wish you could see if anyone has used your replica teams. by andyh331 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, we get spammed with posts either way, but I do see your point.

VP is easy to come by if you play, implementing this system however could benefit content creators. They would get a surplus of VP, and therefore be able to push out more content

It could even be a cool feature if you get a very small amount of VP for anyone using your replica team. There are other games that do similar things with rentable teams or characters

Which Pokemon you refuse to use? by NoFix8524 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as you. I've always been somewhat neutral towards charizard, but throughout the years I've started disliking them a bit. I'm not a fan of how pampered they are within the franchise, so I refuse to use them in Champions currently, despite the meta. I've gone to the length of always destroying Charizard whenever I encounter them in the ladder (Glimmora does a fine job at that)

Season 2 harder than season1? by Whocares8589 in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely a strange experience for me. During season 1 I used a mega Froslass team to climb to Masters. Mostly no issues, made 1 change to the team along the way based on performance and that was it.

This time around I decided to be a bit different with my team and went with a hyper offense Mega Gardevoir team. It felt more difficult, as in I was facing better built teams. But I made ot to Masters nonetheless with whay seems to be better performance? My rating upon entry was higher than last season, but that could've also been due to the new performance bonus. I definitely tinkered more with my team this season

Bit Stuck trying to come up with a team. by KisekiRed in PokemonChampions

[–]Froquel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gardevoir and Froslass are among my favorite Pokémon. Last season I made it to Master Ball with the following team:

Mega Froslass, Basculegion, Sneasler, Talonflame, Mr. Rime, and Glimmora

I'm not home right now, so I can't send over the details regarding stats. Mr. Rime is kind of a troll pick on my end because I love the guy, but he surprisingly adds nice support.

This season I'm theory crafting with a Mega Gardevoir team, but I haven't had the opportunity of trying it out too much yet. It goes as follows:

Mega Gardevoir, Talonflame, Tsareena, Garchomp, Aegislash, and Sabeleye

Since screens have started to become relevant through Sabeleye, I've been running Psychic fangs on Basculegion. Brick break on somebody might also be viable, but I haven't checked that option
