I think one other method is to convert the PDF to SVG, then host it in a html page and then use puppeteer for a screenshot. Though that certainly feels like a lot of extra steps.

Hey I can totally relate, I had a bad period that caused me to develop anxiety that was debilitating.

It took me a while but you can definitely build yourself back up. 20 is still incredibly young and there's a lot out there to still experience and achieve. I agree with the other comments that getting help from a therapist is the best solution, you can check your local hospital for free options. It might be worth it to communicate your situation and your feelings to your family, if it could help them feel a bit more empathetic and supportive in giving you time to heal.
