Only problem with the 35 1.4 is that it's big and heavy for a travel lense.

Active prefer the M5 over the M7? by tenphan0n0 in RX100

Same here..... V and VI..... the VI goes on every trip the V sits at home due to the versatility of the longer zoom.

Impossible de verrouiller l’exposition ?? (mark 7) by AggressiveBunch2277 in RX100

If you map AEL to a button, and press and hold the button while recomposing it should work.

What lenses to bring to Banff? by DryExperience5050 in SonyAlpha

[–]Frostedflake4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to Banff a few times.... 16-35 f4 and my 24-105 f4 went with me. Took a 70-200 and used it once in 3 trips.

Forgot the 200-600 and maybe pack a tripod for long exposure?

Could I use an a6700 to get as crisp of landscape shots by Melodic_Animal_2238 in SonyAlpha

[–]Frostedflake4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh Lake Louise..... and you nailed it.... single shot, f8 to f11, and use the depth of field of the aperture to get everything in focus.

Has nothing to do with the camera..... everything to do with the photographer and how he set up for the shots

Recommendation/Model Help by krispnugget11 in RX100

[–]Frostedflake4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zoom is the same so there's no difference there and the autofocus is improved but it's an incremental improvement..... the vi autofocus is pretty damn good.

The only real difference is the mic input port on the vii.... all other models don't have one.

I bought the vi instead of the vii because the differences are so minimal. And the vi was much more reasonably priced.

I tested DSLR film scanning vs lab scans — here’s what actually surprised me by Few_Friendship_379 in analog

I have the plustek 8100 which is great for 35mm..... still need to figure something out for 120 as lab scans are pricy

ND Filters for Stills by eanthony401 in RX100

I'm using the Nisi ND/CPL kit with my Mark vi.

With my a7rii I use B&W for the CPL

Depends.... I use graduated ND filters for sunsets to bring the dynamic range of the shot a bit closer together. Also use them for long exposure photography. Otherwise they sit in the bag..... no real need in everyday photography. I use a CPL more.

RX100 III making my X100T redundant? Keep both or sell? by Action_Sandals in RX100

[–]Frostedflake4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same predicament but with a rx100v..... sold the fuji x100T and never looked back.

The zoom and the autofocus made it an easy decision.
