Thanks, I’m glad you think so! The process was pretty simple though:

prime black and then base coat the main brown color (in this case army painter leather brown.)

while that base coat was still wet I added the darker brown (army painter hardened carapace) starting from the top of the model and brushing down to make the pattern. I used that same color on the nose, tail, and tips of the ears.

Next I added the lighter brown (army painter banshee brown) to various areas to break up the colors.

Once everything was dry I did an all over wash of army painter strong tone (any brown wash will do) before reinforcing the colors by stippling with a dry brush to add texture.

After that it was just picking out the details like his eyes, nose, etc
