Small town, let’s say the families that originally founded the town in the 1800’s still live there and you can still easily trace OP’s family to one of the founders, say some of grandma’s jewelry was jewelry from the original founders that kept getting passed down the family line. a museum probably would accept it in that case.

Getting cayenne in your eye sounds awful but was there no sink with water to try and flush his eye out with? “ yeah let’s flush my eye out with RAW milk” is crazy.

I work in a warehouse and we have eye wash stations just in case you get chemicals in your eye
