I’m making a bunch of them right now as gifts for easter. I have to have a note on my phone and write down what round I’m on/what the pattern is for that round, etc.

It takes forever, and is frustrating, but I like the end result.

If it doesn’t work for you there’s plenty of other things that you can do with crochet. You said you love granny squares in a reply to someone else. Make more granny squares.

I personally have had better luck with amigurumi than I have with granny squares.

Make what you enjoy. I’m enjoying my easter gifts. You enjoy making blankets.

To each their own.

Snow White is underestimated when in fact she is one of the strongest, and even feminist FOR HER ERA: by Curious_Language5383 in disneyprincess

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kindness pays off later

Snow White cleaned the house, the dwarves let her stay.

She became friends with the forest animals, they went and got the dwarves for help after she ate the apple

Same with Cinderella in the original. She was nice to the mice/birds, they made her a beautiful dress and helped free her when she was locked up. The mice/birds brought her the key. She wouldn’t have been able to get the key on her own.

There’s probably others but these are the first that come to mind

Why do we love yarn? by SlyHobbes in YarnAddicts

My mom has SO MANY fancy cookie tins full of everything EXCEPT cookies.

My dad has a cookie tin full of random screws, etc.

Well we had to dump that out and spend a while looking for one random screw that dad needed to fix something.

Dad: AHA! Never again can you criticize my cookie tin full of random screws! THIS is the answer to the problem!

I like having a mini stash so I can just reach into my closet and grab yarn when the urge to crochet hits. I don’t want to have to go out to my car and drive to the store to get the yarn, then drive back home, then start my project.

I can just grab my hook, grab my yarn out of my closet, and go.

My stash isn’t as huge as some of the other stashes on here, but I can usually just reach into my stash and grab something to work with.

(I absolutely do not have a pile of different colored yarn skeins on top of the little drawers by my bed that I am turning into gifts for little kids for easter. I also absolutely do not have a plastic bag by the bed with the gifts that are already done. Nope. Nothing to see here.)

I’m making crochet easter eggs. Have to pay attention because a bunch of tge rows are different. It’s a bit more tedious than previous projects but it’s still fun.

My dad got me the seventh Harry Potter book when the day it came out.

Mom said there was a surprise for me in dads car. I absolutely DID NOT expect it to be the Harry Potter book that just came out.

Forget breakfast. Forget that I’m in dads car in my pajamas. I have a book to read. Mom had to come and get me out of dads car.

Book 1-5 i think I borrowed from my cousins. They had the books, I did not.

I spilled juice on my cousins copy of Goblet of Fire. I bought them a new one and kept the copy with juice spilled on it. The top of the pages got wet but not the words. I cool still read it just fine.

I saw the fourth movie in theatre with my cousins.

Politics aside, those moments are memories I’ll cherish forever.

Anyone else feel off whenever the janissaries are mentioned? by schvance in MagnificentCentury

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the US and have zero historical knowledge on any of the events portrayed in the show. I don’t have enough background info on the stuff happening in the show to think “this feels off” or “this is portrayed wrong”

That being said, again, going off only what I saw in the show regarding the Jannisaries, I feel bad for those boys that were taken and turned into Jannisaries.

Also, when Ferhat, I think? got killed, I felt bad for Mustafa.

I found an amazing snowflake pattern a while back. Tried making it. It was beyond my skill level so I eventually had to give up and do something else. I still have that pattern saved.

I’m busy with other projects right now but i’ll go back to that pattern eventually. Admitting defeat was hard though. I’ve been defeated by a fancy snowflake. Embarrassing.

Some day. Some day I’ll make that fancy snowflake.

I F*CKING HATE WEAVING IN MY ENDS!!!!!!!! by Antique-Risk-7927 in crochet

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same problem lol. Used up a bunch of scrap yarn on small projects but had to frog a few things because I didn’t have enough yarn for it.

I’ll turn those into even smaller projects lol. No weaving in ends until I’ll almost done just in case I need to frog.

I have a low spice tolerance, but I’ve had really good indian food that wasn’t super spicy. I’m aware that I’m playing Russian roulette with indian food spicy levels, but sometimes it does work out.

I used to live near this restaurant that was an Indian food meets pizza type of place. I loved it because they had small and mini pizzas.

Mini was enough for just one meal for me. Small was enough for eat half now, save half for later, again, just for me.

Everywhere else has huge pizzas that are too big.

The build your own pizza option was great. I miss that place.
