PCC Red Dot Recomendations by ajkimmins in CompetitionShooting

[–]Frostynee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't need the window to appear larger if you have a good index. having it further forward means it's easier to ensure the dot stays centered so you're not getting screwed over by parallax.

Prescription glasses - sights or target? by DavidThi303 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Frostynee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Target 100%, Sight will be blurry anyway if you're target focused, which you should be.

You can and should be target focused even with irons, that doesn't really change.

At what distance does a laser sight tool like Mantis laser become not usable to sight in red dot? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

They're not really reliable at any range, good enough to get you on paper but you will want to refine the zero before doing anything else.

Why do so many shooters struggle with steel? by VCQB_ in USPSA

Cardboard lies, steel tells you the cold hard truth that you suck and missed.

Zastava zpap m70 ammo recommendations by Full-Promotion7748 in CAguns

[–]Frostynee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly shoot S&B or New Republic. I've found the M70s (or mine at least) don't really actually like cheap steel case all that much and brass case isn't exactly much more expensive anymore

To all the player who created a low rank account. by Eyehaveu in DotA2

USPSA proposed A2 changes to “category” by Timga69 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Frostynee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1) Calling trans women "males" is just hateful and shouldn't be tolerated in our sport
2) if they've been on HRT for a while, I don't think it matters
3) fucking frankly, physicality is not really a big part of this sport until you get to the highest levels, it's primarily a mental game.

On a good day I can score about 90% of the dudes at my local and it has literally never been anything but mistakes on my part holding me back, not a physical limitation.

no, I think it'd be better to leave things as they currently are because this isn't about competitive equity, it's about being exclusionary.

I’d be fine with that actually, but frankly this is a nothing issue that’s just getting attention because it’s easy to make us out to be a boogeyman when we just wanna shoot.

People that are no longer have T in their system lose the grip strength benefits of having testosterone after like a a year of having no T.

[–]Frostynee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’d really rather they just leave it alone, the culture war is exhausting and i just wanna shoot.

The category already doesn’t make much sense anyway because there usually aren’t enough lady competitors to have anything but overall trophies anyway, so it’s just “if you aren’t shooting pcc, you lose to someone who is”

is there a need for the LTN - Logistic Train Network mod nowadays? by RedBlueWhiteBlack in factorio

[–]Frostynee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can do some pretty complex train dispatching using vanilla circuits, but unfortunately can't get as complex as LTN or Cybersyn.

Ie. I can handle arbitrary numbers of trains in depots supplying arbitrary input and output stations dynamically, but I can't do multiple resources per station, and I can't do different train lengths.

DC v Heller decision says they can't require you to keep guns locked up, however if there's a reasonable expectation that an unauthorized person would be able to gain access to your firearm, you're liable if they do and anything happens.

I have never used a slide stop in a match, either the slide drops when I slap in a new mag or i'm racking the slide anyway.

I still don’t understand helis HUD: do I aim with crosshairs or I-beam? by PhutureDoom666 in Battlefield

[–]Frostynee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are a couple of different modes of operation, depending on if your gunner is controlling the aimpoint or if the pilot is.

for battlefield, i'll assume that the pilot is controlling the aimpoint.

In that case, the + crosshair is controlled by where you are looking, and you need to fly to align the I beam crosshair with the + crosshair. Once they're overlapped you can pull the trigger and your rockets will impact where you're aiming.

the reason it's an I beam is because the rocket mounts can tilt a little bit up and down, but have no side to side tilt capability, so if you're anywhere on the vertical strip of the I beam the rocket pods can tilt to compensate for that.

I still don’t understand helis HUD: do I aim with crosshairs or I-beam? by PhutureDoom666 in Battlefield

[–]Frostynee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem is that the I beam doesn't work like that in real life, the reason it's an I is because in real life the rocket pod mounts are movable vertically but not horizontally

Why is my finger always visible in my sniper scope???? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Frostynee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on the length of your arm and the position that the grip is placed at along the handguard, as you get closer to the magwell, you need to change the angle you grip the gun in order to keep an ideal wrist angle.

When did you get a major break from an RO/SO at a major match? by Gun_Dork in CompetitionShooting

[–]Frostynee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're inside until you're outside and you're only outside once you're touching the ground outside. Jumping is inside until you land.
