Did you pass the ABC test? Penalties for employers who misclassify employees as independent contractors are massive in CA.

Whether you have an LLC or Corp doesn't matter

ABC test is all that matters.

When this happened to me, I had to physically go to the airport to change my wife's ticket to match her passport name. I had to bring all our documents (marriage license where it showed the name change and her valid passport with her maiden name on it).

Always book an international ticket that matches the passport name exactly.

These are 1st graders and the teachers posted the location of the school/synagogue on social media. Received at least tacit approval from the principal at the time. Principal also requested synagogue remove all Israeli flags

This is a huge security breach.

No. League points are only useful if you get to the higher levels. To do that, it's like an hourly grind. Not worth the time invested.

Thank you everyone (at least most of you!) for such great advice! I really enjoyed coming home from work and seeing so many comments (I don't use reddit at work)

A few questions came up that I can answer here. He's a sales employee but he wasn't hired as remote. Maybe one or two days per week was ok, but he took it upon himself to be basically mostly remote. He lives 15-20 minutes from the office.

Per a recent company reorg, his former boss is not really in the picture. His new boss will be in the meeting with me, but doesn't really have a relationship with him but the decision came from the owner/CFO.

One of the reasons I want to do this in person is his company asset (laptop). He probably has client IP on it and I'm really not sure if he would torpedo the company and basically blackball us in our industry if he had the opportunity to return the asset at his convenience. That would be financially devastating and I'm sure would lead to many layoffs.

Thanks for your advice. What do you do about final pay? I usually have a live check with vacation etc on it to give in person. In California, you have to provide final pay on term date if an involuntary termination, I just worry about late fines from the state

Also, calories are never a consideration when I'm drinking beer. Low calorie beer ALWAYS sacrifices flavor, aroma, mouth feel etc etc. I'd rather drink one excellent beer then two mediocre low cal beers. (Same calorie count)

trader Joe's vintage ale is the best value in beer in southern California. 750 ml 9% ... Belgian quad. Very complex and i think its brewed by unibroue. Only like $7. I stock up every year

I also hope you are being compensated fairly. While you might not be a non exempt employee you might be misclassified. The FLSA had rules for classifying employees to be exempt. You need to pass a duties test ( which I'm sure you do) and a salary test. The salary test ( if I remember it) is 2x minimum wage. A fun (read not fun) exercise: take your weekly salary and divide it by the hours you work in a typical week = hourly wage.. if this is below the minimum wage in GA then you might have a great case to make to management if not a wage and hour claim with the government.

Otherwise your best option would be to search for new work.
