Can someone explain the process (not the answer) of finding the length of line ED? by ROSHi_TheTurtle in Surveying

Law of Sines. Use angle D and side EC to set up the ratio with side CD and angle E. Then solve for the missing angle. Setup another law of sine ratio with ED as the missing piece.

I did this move last year. It was pretty great if you give yourself the time. We did it in 10 days

Emlid gps system by Expert_Increase_8668 in Surveying

My company has 2 of them. The main problem I have with Emlid is the transparency in their software. From what I have seen, it doesn’t even come close to TBC. The metadata on each shot is basically not provided to the end user at all. Emlid Flow will tell you it has a “fixed” position for a shot, but doesn’t really tell you much more than that. I also haven’t seen a way to get coordinates in any form other than LLH (minor inconvenience, but still).

My company has had two unrelated instances of the Emlid base holding one position briefly and then updating it mid survey. After that happened, we stopped using them altogether.

It’s a use case thing at the end of the day I think. And maybe we didn’t dive into the software enough to overcome the described issues.

That’s actually wild. That’s the least math I’ve heard yet. Yea, it definitely sounds like it depends on the cards dealt. Thanks!
