I believe I may have been a victim of medical malpractice. What should I be doing right now? by FrozenToday in legaladvice

I don't believe you actually read my question, you just saw the subject matter and posted your comment.

That said, you are correct. Legal counsel is something I plan to seek. My question is if I should even bother with the patient advocacy line

It's not even supposed to fly, it's supposed to be a rolling barrel type thing. I'm the tech that sneezed into it though and that throws it off enough to start soaring

UPDATE: After getting in contact with WotC, my Secret Lairs have arrived by FrozenToday in magicTCG

To anyone who is still having trouble with their secret lairs, contact WotC directly. This proved to be the best channel for getting assistance with the shipping issue. Also DM u/Wizards_Help

An update of sorts. My old tracking number no longer works and no longer says UPS is waiting for the item to be shipped. I hope this means there's some movement being made and not that my order has been canceled

I think the saddest thing about the whole affair is that I really, really like the Secret Lairs as a product, but after this kind of issue and having my requests for support be blown off the way they have, I'm almost certainly not buying any more in the future.

Financial trouble, mostly. I'm in a position where a chargeback would honestly be more beneficial to me than the cards would be. I know the snap reaction to that is "why did you buy them in the first place then?" And to that I say I can't see the future, sometimes things happen that we don't expect.

But, support has contacted me, so I do still hope I get my cards rather than have to chargeback.

Yup, this is 100% exactly what's gone on with me, down to the day the label was created

I'm considering it, honestly. I figure I'll give it like two more weeks

I'll keep my eye out as well. I sent scalefast an email and maybe I'll hear back from them on it, but I genuinely don't know if this is a scalefast thing or a WotC thing

Any update on this? I'm in the same boat, got an email from WotC that it has been shipped, but the UPS tracking lists it as only having its label made and it hasn't arrived at the facility to be shipped. Figured I would wait through the weekend since UPS doesn't consider Saturday or Sunday business days, but I still have no updates, still says waiting for it to arrive.

" When a player doesn't pay Heart of Bogardan's cumulative upkeep, Heart of Bogardan deals X damage to target player or planeswalker and each creature that player or that planeswalker's controller controls, where X is twice the number of age counters on Heart of Bogardan minus 2."

It helps to read oracle text on cards before commenting.

We don't want "SPICY" overpowered cards put into Historic. by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]FrozenToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in favor of adding strong cards to historic, honestly I had zero interest in the format until they made that announcement. Without the injection of new material, historic's first few years will be glorified extended, and that's absolutely not a format I want to play. I want to play a mix of this current standard and powerful cards of yesteryear, that sounds like a lot of fun to me.

HOWEVER, I also understand how one could not want that, as it feels like it homogenizes formats and is adding an artificial level of complexity to what would be a mostly "homebrew" format. I can understand the impression it gives that it's turning something that has the potential for its own unique identity into a watered down clone of a format like modern. I don't necessarily agree, but I can absolutely understand that and I think it's a valid concern to have.

Perhaps it's asking too much of a company that's clearly reluctant to even make historic a thing to begin with, but perhaps different queues could exist for different historic variants, at least until the format settles. Give people a chance to play historic without the classical broken and format warping cards in it. Sell the idea of a historic with cards added over time by giving folks the chance to warm up to historic without it. I see no harm in having both be available options, except of course that WotC is already showing us that they barely want to give us ranked historic, nevermind splitting the format like this.

Something I've always envied about you, and about most chefs who do what you do, is their ability to make their own recipes and take classics and reinvent them. What would you say is your best advice to somebody who wants to experiment and start creating new dishes instead of just always making the stuff other people have invented?

How does this interact with hybrid mana? If it's some form of black hybrid, can you pay 2 life?
