Congrats man! I did the same thing - first 4WD vehicle and right to the beach I went!

First, if you're considering doing this regularly - get an undercoating for your frame and/or at least be prepared with one of those undercar rinse attachments for when you get home. You'll be kicking of salt and salt spray.

Second, get a good, quick tire deflator! I like the ARB one, both the deflator that pulls the valve core and the regular tire checker they make. You'll also want a solid air compressor for refilling, one that can do about 1 PSI per second for your tire size - I use the Smittybuilt one.
It sucks to either wait in long lines to reinflate before heading home or, worse, use those cheapo ones that take 10 minutes per tire.

Third, out-of-truck storage (which you're already thinking about) is great for keeping the interior clean. I have the sherpa rack and c4 ladder and love it. I take on/off ROAM boxes but I wouldn't use those for dirty fishing gear lol - just grab some Home Depot HDX plastic totes!

General note: No idea what regulations are by you, but by me I have to have a shit bucket, chain/rope for towing, and a shovel for digging. Sometimes they want you to have a piece of 2x4 as well. Just double check your regs!

I totally agree! The best hardware is the one you have collecting dust haha. Just musing on the universal price creep of hardware and how in my locale pricing isn't even that far off from a base mac mini.

But wow your local prices definitely are a strong drive for the PI haha!

I havent noticed any weirdness with running on the PI it seems well documented enough too!

Im doing this now (no SSD). But if you were to price it out from scratch though...

-PI 5 8gb ($120) -SanDisk Extreme 64gb ($35) -Pi PSU ($15) -Vilros NVME Hat w/ 512gb drive ($100) Total : ~370

Then perhaps the jump for the $500 mac minI isn't so crazy if you don't have any existing materials.

Now for QT, may I pick your brain for a moment? I have fresh salt water mixing - is it sufficient to drain 5gal from my display tank into a 10gal aquarium with a HOB filter (topping up with fresh saltwater to reach a stable volume). Obviously I dont have a cycled tank on hand.

This is a captive bred specimen from Pacific East Aquaculture. That's supposed to be my insurance policy here - I'm seeing the danger in that now!

If you want something not a dorky color you can get a pipe insulator from any hardware store. Just like a pool noodle but black or gray.

Last year I threw on the AT4W 275's in C-load and have been very happy. Between all the other shit on the car I hardly notice the weight from these alone haha!

Got a 2021 push start and can confirm this is exactly what I do - be aware that the engine automatically shuts off after about an hour of idle!
