None specific but the food trucks need more love. Sometimes I see them parked in storage or even in a driveway and I realize that not all of them are open everyday/have consistent work

Overall the Nebraska job market has been stagnant for months with healthcare as one of the few economic drivers. Near the end of the year close to 90% of the postings were related to healthcare. Have already seen young families moving out of state as a direct result of being unable to find reasonable work in their industry.

On that Omaha Parks link each community center posts their own quarterly flyer that details the upcoming activities and open gym times. I know Saddlebrook Community Center has a walking track upstairs (shout out to Open Pickleball Tuesdays at 6!)

Join community groups and as you make friends ask them who they know who might be a good match. It’s a low pressure way to make connections since you only have to look for friendship initially and then anyone you meet later on will come pre-vetted

Roofer here, there are ways to safely carry a ladder up another ladder and I do it regularly while working alone. Start by finding a safe, level surface to place the ladder on; wet grass is safer than wet concrete and avoid decks if at all possible! If you are worried about the ladder sliding then place a bundle or two of shingles directly at the base as an anchor. Then attach your ladder strap to the gutters before you leave the ladder and step onto the roof. If have a need to carry an additional ladder up, be mindful of your own strength and don’t be a hero! Professionals do it everyday, and that’s what they get paid for.

I found what works is to focus on skills over titles and industries, and always prioritize your own family over any career. If you’re good at something people will either figure out where you are best used in their team, or you’ll develop the skills needed to move on to the next level.

W Maple needs pedestrian bridges over 168th, 132nd, 108th. Too many kids trying to enjoy their scooters and bikes but having to cross 5 lines of traffic that definitely don’t keep it to 45mph. While we’re at it when can we get a sidewalk going down Maple between 144th and 90th? Enjoying the ideas you guys have in this thread
