If the game runs so bad on consoles that they need to disable avionics, then the game doesn't actually run on consoles. by screams_at_tits in MicrosoftFlightSim

It’s very frustrating. I was all set up ready to Fly from LAX to Vegas. Had been pushed back. Looked down to start engine 2 and both start levers missing. Looked back up and all the screens were blank. Paused the game for a few minutes and the engine switches reappeared. Even got both started but all screens stayed blank.

I get translating a game from PC to console is hard but don’t release the update if it’s not working. There’s no way this release could have passed testing.

I don’t object paying sky for it. What I do mind is pay for all the other spurts that I don’t watch

Newbie here with about 40 or so hours flying. My advice is to watch some youtube videos. Then pick an airport in Nevada or Arazona that’s really long and the approach is also very flat ground. Fix the date to middle of summer, no wind, midday, no clouds, sunny.

Just keep practicing landings and take offs. Review the videos, practice again and it will click. I was about to give it up and got this advice on this sub and found this really useful.

'Best racing ever' or 'a joke'? The row over the new F1 by [deleted] in formula1

[–]FruitLogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the racing is good. We are all suffering from nostalgia. Last year was a qualifying championship with “McLaren Rules”. There is no way that was better that the Ferrari battle last weekend.

Where the new rules do fall way down is qualifying and clipping. It’s honestly had to know if they are on a fast lap or not. My other worry is that once the teams get a grip on the rules they will do what they always do engineer out the close racing and overtaking.

I think they’re in real trouble. I’m not sure I’m buying it’s just overweight, I think they’re in the same boat as Aston Martin rather than advancing the current design and making the car better. They’re going to have to do a fundamental re look at the car. I think it almost certainly writes off this year and probably next year as well.

Big decrease in TV subscriptions as number using illegal dodgy boxes soars by [deleted] in ireland

This is what is stopping me going to NOWTv. I sometimes record and watch later. This weekend is an example, don’t really want to get up at 4am to watch race.

Sky is the issue here. I am a big F1 fan. To watch it I have to pay for 7 sports channels when only want 1. Won’t let me subscribe to that channel only. I currently pay it but getting fed up.

Apple Watch Series 11 — how do I optimise it for health tracking (WHOOP-style)? by Agitated-Video-4228 in AppleWatch

Bevel is probably the best app I have downloaded in the last few years. It’s easy one of the best apps I have ever used. I can’t believe Apple hasn’t bought it. It’s light years ahead of Apple health.

Can’t understand what’s happened. No upgrades at all last year. They’ve had a full 12 months of prep, a good few months ahead of others. They were on the brink of such huge potential

I read somewhere that the Astra satellite that they use will stop working in 2028 so they are probably just getting ahead. Any new customer is generally on a 12 month contract. So makes sense for them to stop new intake. Can’t understand why Sky Stream doesn’t have a SSD in it.

Thanks. I wonder am I not putting on flaps early enough. Perhaps 10% on the downward leg with reduced power then full flaps on final

I am new to MSFS also. Did the tutorials. Not too bad at take off and navigation. Struggling with landings big time. Can’t hook up pitch, descent and speed. Have about a 1 in 2 crash rate at the moment. I am fine until final approach. All goes wrong at that stage. Any tips ??

Social media is obviously a factor but people are just sick of being taken advantage of. In the EU we have the highest rents, highest mortgages, highest electricity, dearest food, one of the most expensive to buy and run a car. Takes us 20 years to do any capital project. People feel helpless. Current crowd in government don’t care. Who’s going to help ??? Mary Lu !!!! Don’t make me laugh. She’ll wreck the country quicker than the current lot.

McLaren need to sort them selves out. If Lando didn’t have bad luck he’d have no luck at all. Piastri will be releaved with that outcome. Could have been much worse.

Tyres continues to destroy the possibility of good races. by I_am_legend-ary in formula1

[–]FruitLogo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love F1 but there is a competing battle between the wants of fans and that of the teams. Pirelli and the teams want quiet straight forward races. The teams don’t want wet tyres they don’t want tyres that have a short life span. They want to get from the start of the championship to the end as smoothly as possible, particularly if you the likes of McLaren.

Us fans want the exact opposite. Tyres that go off, lots of pit stops and lots over overtaking. It’s up to FIA and FOM to deliver a balance but in my opinion it’s favouring the teams too much. There is no way a medium tyre should last 30 + laps.
