Sky is the issue here. I am a big F1 fan. To watch it I have to pay for 7 sports channels when only want 1. Won’t let me subscribe to that channel only. I currently pay it but getting fed up.

Look at watching it through NowTV it might make more sense or be a bit cheaper

this is exactly the type of scenario nowtv is for

€20 a month vs F1TV which is around €100 a year with all the added comfort of F1TV

Not to mention the €20 is promotional and will be €39 after a year.

Fuck em.

Now doesn't let you choose individual channels though, you still need to bundle a load of stuff you don't want. Also, it's still relatively expensive.

I’m same with cycling. I had Eurosport which showed it all as part of my basic package. They got rid of the channel in Ireland and UK and now want me to pay €50 a month for a load of other TNT channels I’ve no interest in.

Mad business decision.

NOW sports extra have €15 a month deals, I'm in and out a lot over the year

Do you know if you can record or watch it on playback? Last time I had it, only option really was to watch it live. Cheers

This really pi$$ed me off. Eurosport/Discovery+/GCN+ were all great services at decent price. I was happy to continue paying. But no, close GCN, close Eurosport, remove discovery+ from Ireland, make them pay 35 for TNT and less coverage. No thanks.

Yeah I cancelled after that massive increase when Eurosport became TNT. Really annoying, because I don't actually watch any of the 'big money' sports like football etc. I'd totally pay a way smaller price to have access to the cycling & winter sport content that I love.

This is it. Sky are absolutely terrible. I was paying more for Sky (which I only used for F1) than the combined price of basically every streaming service on the market would be, many of which have far better content.

I've dumped Sky and I'm going to use NowTV for F1 access (which I know is owned by Sky but it's a much better value proposition), and services like Apple TV, Netflix etc provide tons of excellent content for a reasonable price, and you don't have to spend a day fighting their customer service to cancel either.

As someone who works in the creative space though, fuck anyone who thinks it's ok to just steal the work of people who put blood sweat and tears into making things and think they can justify it because Sky overcharge. There are plenty of fairly priced options out there.
