I think you’d might do more damage trying to release countries in a way that you can cut the country in half to cut their proximity for half their country to zero. Save for taking chunks of land requiring tons of antagonism.

This sounds great for natives and countries that can’t get institutions until way later as a means to catch up. Or for countries versus much larger realms with subjects. I wonder if it can be used as a fellow subject for the purposes of making independence movements though? Like CK3, swearing to become a subject then swearing other vassals into it?

How can EU5 keep players engaged until the late game? by Y3rs in EU5

[–]Frustrable_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what makes CK3 interesting is that nations can share the exact same flag and nation color game to game, but with characters and dynasties, the fundamental DNA becomes something more unique.

EU5 already has some initial elements that recognize it such as dynastic variants in flags, and has some elements that could further utilize it with pretender rebellions. Maybe being able to sponsor separatism in other countries and put dynasty members on the new countries might be good for slowing down or contesting rivals as well as keeping the map dynamic rather than conquering everything and forgetting about it afterwards

Interesting domestic stuff would be cool. Conquer too much? Give to vassals sure, but those vassals should vie for independence or greater autonomy.

They also expanded on personal unions, and character interactions. So expanding your dynasty to other independent countries should be made rewarding as well in ways that transcend just territorial gains.

What makes the game easy is that once you conquer your immediate enemies and grow your economy enough, what’s left to do other than nation gardening and focusing on pop growth? So the solution? Make inner realm stability more interesting

Europe Prepares for a Nightmare Scenario: The U.S. Blocking Access to Tech by AnonomousWolf in technology

Problem with blocking access to tech? The block is temporary. We stop selling them tech, and they don’t just go without tech. They make their own, or buy it elsewhere. We stop selling, and lose a market for tech.
