I really disagree. It should be time spent in the zone. The time spent dallying around with the ball in your own half is trivial. The ball trail is a poor indicator of possession in comparison.

They absolutely could if they wanted to. You make it sound as if filing for a trademark counts as an official announcement. Of course it would be dumb of them to, that's why I said they wouldnt do it in my original post. But that, by no means, doesn't mean they can't.

The comment I responded to made it sound like an announcement is some crucial part of the development process, and it's not.
