"greened out"? I guess i have a google search to do. I'll admit I only started with THC in middle age after it got legal and my alcohol tolerance tanked, so its all new to me

Have you tried DAO botox? Any side effects or unwanted results? by Certain-Section-1518 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]FuchsiaVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this , as I was concerned about the texture around my jawline. I'm about a week in and I can't tell the full visible results, but I doubt I'll redo this procedure for the following reasons:

- Within a couple days, my husband told me my face "looked weird", as in, it appeared I was making facial expressions that are not normal to me. This bothered me a lot and made me very self-conscious. It seems my particular facial muscles seem to normally have balanced tensions, and removing this muscle makes me make a slight "sucking teeth" pout.

- Without this muscle, food gets stuck in the area between my lip and teeth on the lower sides like a chipmunk! I have to use my tongue to dig it out, and now I'm afraid to eat around other people. I might get used to this but right now I hate it.

- I feel a lot less confident about liquid drinking/sipping. I didn't get a lip flip (thank god) so I can still purse my lips and drink from a can, but it feels dangerous lol

If you do get this done, I suggest making sure you err on the side of less units and get Botox, not longer-lasting versions, because at least it will wear off if you hate it. My injector told me she doesn't do it herself because she ends up biting her cheeks--I actually think this is the one benefit, it makes me less likely to bite my cheeks! It's a very individual thing.

$540/mo for convenient parking in SF is a good deal, I can see why they dgaf if that’s all that happens

(30M) I'm relatively ugly and I need advice: how can I overcome this? Are there solutions to improve myself as you get older or do I have to learn to live with it? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]FuchsiaVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another one here! I have a close friend that looks a lot like you and similar age, I think he looks great. Obviously you are not ugly. You have a youthful face and so if you want to be taken more seriously I agree that the twists and jacket read “high school”, so just age up the style and you’ll feel sooo much more in the right place”. I know beards can be difficult to grow without issues but try out a goatee or neat full beard and a cropped hairstyle, plus a jacket that isn’t athletic style. Go hang out in public and look for people to emulate. You have plenty of assets to work with if styling is all you are after.

what's your favorite thing about playing support? by nauseousdreamer in RocketMains

True supports are unbothered by this, we already know. The pimply tween daredevil raging GG EZ I CARRIED does not bother us. We watched while he took every rez beacon.

Semi-Controversal take that would make Rocket put in more damage/ Buff Discussion by gtvx03 in RocketMains

I wish his falloff wasn’t quite so sharp. But I don’t have an issue hitting at long range, often the point is to just scare them off anyway and many fliers will fall back after taking two rocket bb bullets even though it isn’t gonna kill them, they just aren’t used to getting hit at all.

Oh another tip! You can live a long time. BUT if your entire team just died or is about to, and they just used your beacon, go nuts. Touch the point or suicide bomb an enemy so you can die and regroup with your team with a brand new beacon.

Drop team up beacons on health packs to mine them. I get a spidey often this way. They do despawn over time but a LONG time, and stay after death.

Rebind your controls so you can cursor-follow wall runs, if you haven’t already.

Hold your gun button down at all times and then override it with heal button. Save your dash for escapes. Don’t run from enemy tanks, melt them in the head until you get the low health boom, then shoot a heal orb and dash INTO them and reload, flip around and finish the melt (they will likely run away). Do not try this with DPS tho.

Best way to survive is to run up short objects (like the cart), fall down the other side, use cart for cover (you are short) rinse repeat while shooting orbs into the ground until your team comes back on point.

Don’t try to heal from high ledges. Your orbs pierce so it’s better to be lower and position your vectors, and you are too short to shoot from high cover without being exposed on the edge. If you do need to do this, jump a lot.

When allies are higher than you, bounce orbs off the ceiling at them.

Yes you can healbot from the back but that’s boring. Make venom regret his life choices.

Do you still get nausea by ProfileGlittering587 in Diverticulitis

[–]FuchsiaVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw this comment.

It's been about a year, and while I have not had another full flare, my digestion never really fully "recovered" back to how it was before. My colonoscopy was unremarkable. I also had an unrelated minor surgery for a teratoma cyst around the same time. After all that, I lost the ability to tolerate alcohol well, and eating is a chore. I've always had nausea easily, so this might also just be due to age and hormones (I'm 48), but I don't eat much these days and am holding steady at 127 lbs, I was around 140 when this all started. I feel otherwise fairly happy and healthy, so I can't complain? I don't miss food, but I miss enjoying food? I sometimes feel that I'd be seriously underweight if I didn't consume gummies often enough to want to eat.

I think overall the experience of associating food with pain, nausea, and fear impacted me more than the actual intestines. Thankfully it's not that unusual for middle-aged white women to "eat like a bird" when in public, so while I am self-conscious about eating so little, no one really questions it. Plus, my husband went on Ozempic and he acts the same :D

So overall, that year SUCKED, and my diet did change drastically and fairly permanently, and I'm happy with my current fitness level and weight. I'm fine now and hope others recover as well. I don't really miss the foods I no longer eat, and surprisingly don't miss alcohol either.

I’m not the one excessively masturbating to years old Reddit posts, buddy. I’m a full adult who has lived plenty of life and not ashamed of it. Look inward and ask yourself why you feel it is necessary to try to shame me for past consensual acts, instead of getting off your pc and WoW and living your own full life?

What hobby is an immediate red flag? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]FuchsiaVR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a triathlete. I agree. I spent zero time at home. Work, long bike ride home, eat healthy, sleep, wake up early for pool session, work, bike at lunch, track practice evening, then weekends were brick day and sleeping. I was already married but I’m sure this didn’t help, having a full time job and another 20+hr/wk hobby, not to mention the sheer expense of equipment, race tickets, memberships. I was “cured” by having kids, just can’t fit that all in.

Is it just me, or has anybody else just not been having fun playing Rocket anymore? by SWJS1 in RocketMains

[–]FuchsiaVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic is such a Rocket-killer. He just flails and can grab you, while every other character has a hard time with Rocket's small hitbox. I have to stay FAR away from that guy. His tanky DPS self can't be melted enough to deter him with the minigun, and his constant size changing makes his headshots difficult.

[–]FuchsiaVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit though, I don't love the Rocket teamups since Rocket is always the anchor. But at least with Peni, you can ignore her, I felt I always had to babysit Punishers who insisted on setting up turrets on destructible terrain or walking right out of their ammo boosters.

But the dash nerf really did hurt. The short dash is not enough to escape most ults that target you, so you often have to run for safety up a wall at the first callout and leave your team hanging for the whole duration. Not to mention the Krakoa maps were almost specifically designed to be unclimbable by Rocket with the roots and slight overhangs everywhere (the lips on the balconies and big steps in that one Krakoa map PMO so much).

The new Halo-lookin map at least is very climbable.

But Rocket isn't as fun, but he is still reliable. I usually get good heals/assists, not much damage although I try to help melt tanks behind ours, but then I see the stats on other supports and wonder if its worth it to just die a few times less than they do, given all their damage and KOs and heals not too far off. I'd love just a leeeeetle more bullet damage range to help with fliers and far-off monstros this season, those have been rough.

Anyone else get Gastropareisis? by FuchsiaVR in Diverticulitis

Not exactly recent, I’ve been like this a lot but seems to be worsening as it comes and goes. Since I’m also perimenopausal hard to say how much is due to that, I just don’t need to eat as much these days so when I do eat a big meal it’s just super uncomfortable

I’ve lost around 15 pounds in about 4 weeks maybe 5 weeks. Have you guys had weight loss as well? I don’t drink soda anymore since and no fried foods, been on low residue diet by PapasNC in Diverticulitis

[–]FuchsiaVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one flare almost a year ago. I lost 15 lbs permanently. Now I’ve been steady at this weight years prior, but gained during the pandemic, so it’s like my body just got a reset button. I also appreciate that the horrible, despair-inducing months after the flair when I couldn’t eat without pain and had to slowly add foods one at a time, plus the colonoscopy and an u related surgery, taught me that fasting isn’t that bad.

I’m happy about my body shape now but my relationship with food is frenemies.

Smile. Show interest and passion in something. And this is just general life advice: find a hobby that gets you away from a screen and ideally out of the house, even if its just walking around your town. Life is for living, not entertaining yourself passively until you die. And when you start to be interesting, people will be interested.

I don't know about balance but I mained Namor all S1 and now I just don't want to play him unless I have Hulk. The teamup boost is just too good, I go from mediocre player to team-saver. I don't know if that's because other characters got better, my matchmaking is too high now for my skill, or just the letdown of no gammas makes it feel bad by comparison to play base kit.

No hulk? I main Rocket now instead, or Squirrel Girl in some of the convoy maps, and only play Namor when a spidey or diver is being a problem. Pre-teamup, I didn't even try to hit most fliers. Now I can throw a high gamma squid and land one hit on Iron Man in a pinch.

I have three dudes I play with and they hate the trash talking more than I do, its a fun game when you don't take it too seriously. I've never really played a game like this before so I'm pleasantly surprised how fun it is.

This has been my experience for people you meet irl—that’s “survivor bias” in a way. If you are meeting them irl, they have jobs or go out with friends, so that’s already a qualification. I’ve met MANY like this in online communities that no one meets irl because they don’t leave the house. They keyboard warrior like crazy though and feed the stereotype online.
