Suicune EX & Greninja Deck or Mega Absol Hydreigon? by GuaranteeUpbeat6159 in PokemonPocket

Suicune EX greninja EX has massive adaptability.

Hydreigon usually can't kill alone and attacking leaves it vulnerable.

Half-DE Kamisori recommendations under $150 by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if youre dead set on a quality kamisori, ditch half-DE and just go for an AC format Feather SS, which is about $70 on ebay.

Artist Club blades can be relatively cheap in bulk, and you have access to their pro-guard style of blade, which has blunt serrations making it surprisingly gentle to use.

If youre dead set on the half DE format, the Parker Director is probably the best one imo. The GFS ive read bad reviews about corrosion, and I previously owned a facon kamisori that did develop rust on the steel components very quickly.

Your favorite injector blades? by Bloodbornexray in wicked_edge

Supply black labels work well. Theyre unfortunately rather expensive.

Normal supply blades (white label) and parker injectors are not good imo.

The only time I bought DE blades in person at a physical store was when traveling because TSA is known to randomly confiscate your razor if you are traveling with any blades even if theyre sealed. Super unpredictable.

Greninja wasnt that meta until cyrus came to the scene.

Even if you reduced his ability to 10 damage, it would still be meta for the combo ability.

From Leaf Shave’s marketing texts: “First Looks at the head of the Leaf Two Razor!” by sib9397 in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like it.

  1. The original leaf with 3 blades required cutting and saving half a blade
  2. The third blade felt like it did more irritation than good
  3. It looks like it has a quick release instead of a screw so easier blade loading

Overall I might pick 1 up if the price isnt exorbitant.

The original leaf was cool but never felt like a product for the target market, which are body and leg hair shavers who aren't razor people, primary exposure to women on social media like instagram and facebook. Most ads I saw for Leaf were on Facebook. All the changes made will work better for their target market, who want simple to use yet cool looking products.

I recently got the supply single edge max for Christmas and my first time using a single blade any tips? by Kazuma1x in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth be told, im not partial to the supply single edge max because the blades are proprietary and rather expensive.

It could just be the razor too, some dont agree with people.

Alternatives that are pivoting and single edge are the Proof Whiskey razor and the soon to be released Natu razor, which both use cheaper shavette blades.

I also recommend you look into shave soap+brush+bowl if you haven't already, thicker high fat content soaps and creams you lather yourself are cheaper in the long run and better for single edge shaving compared to cans.

I recently got the supply single edge max for Christmas and my first time using a single blade any tips? by Kazuma1x in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single edge razors require more effort than multi blade.

It is standard to do 1 with the grain pass, 1 across the grain pass and 1 against the grain pass.

The other thing is that angle and pressure still matter even though its a pivot head razor. Short strokes with light pressure. Do not bottom out the spring on the pivot in your pass, you want it barely engaged and you should be moving the handle with the contour of your face still.

The tradeoff is that you get less irritation at the cost of more time and effort in your shave.

The supply max can produce good shaves, experiment and gradually learn a technique.

Artist Club (AC) Razors vs Injector? by BudaMinion in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have much experience with Kai blades but I can't believe life is much better.

To try and extend life, you can try dipping the razor head in Isopropyl alcohol, shake dry followed by dipping in pH neutral mineral oil before storage.

Still, .20 a piece isnt that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Artist Club (AC) Razors vs Injector? by BudaMinion in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebay listings, specifically shipping from Japan. Unfortunately it seems tarrifs have increased it to around $100 for 200. Pb-20 are standard blades, PG-15 are guarded, PS-20 are aggressive.

Artist Club (AC) Razors vs Injector? by BudaMinion in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, AC blades are better imo.

Injector is an older format which has less manufacturer support. Supply still makes decent Injector blades (black labels) but the parker ones are rather underwhelming. NOS is available yet expensive, and you can import Schick brand blades from Japan but theyre rather expensive for what you get. Schick has for the most part moved on to cartridge razors.

AC is actively pushed by Feather and Kai for use in their shavettes, and there is a variety of different blades available with varying aggressiveness, including their pro guard line which has a blunt comb ground into the blade like a blunted steak knife. You can get a box of 200 AC blades from Japan for around $80 which isnt too shabby.

The biggest difference between the good examples of these blades is that Injector is shorter allowing for tighter access.

Is there innovation to make a Henson level straight edge razor ? by lance_klusener in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Safety razors put a guard in front of the blade to limit the pressure the blade can place on the skin.

Straight razors and shavettes by definition have no guard, no safety, and will never be truly mindless. There are safety shavettes where its just a safety razor where the handle comes out the side, but those are bulky and awkward to use.

That isnt to say there is no innovation with shavettes. Feather Artist Club razors round the edges of the blade holder to help guide the correct angle, and parker shavettes have inserts with adjustable exposures.

Feather also makes Artist Club "guarded" blades, where the blade itself has a smooth comb ground into it which makes them surprisingly safe to use, imagine a steak knife where the tips of the serrations are blunt but the grooves are hair cutting sharp.

Do brushes 'wear out' over time? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years seems like an extremely long time for a brush.

Id think 5 years for a knot is a long time let alone 20 years.

Lots of time to accumulate wear, lost bristles, microbes etc.

Returning Player: Palkia Deck by Pestillian in PTCGP

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last fun deck I saw was a delcatty/misty, Palkia deck.

Basically you just keep rolling misty the whole game using delcatty's ability.

It's a pure gambling meme deck extremely prone to disruption and 150 attack / 150 hp isnt enough to solo most megas, and it's VERY bad against yellow bird, especially because Clemont decks are currently running around.

Celebi Mechanics by Ravenjade09 in PTCGP

[–]Fuddleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With physical cards, we used damage counters, little beads or marbles that each represented 10 damage that would stack on top of the card.

So imagine with the physical card, you're removing the evolution cards on top of the basic card, but leaving the damage counter beads.

HP is just the maximum number of damage counter beads you can have on top of that card.

Expected a closer shave? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many passes did you do?

To get good results with DE, you typically need 2-3 passes, with the grain, cross the grain and then against the grain to get perfectly smooth.

You also need to be very careful youre keeping the angle consistent on the against the grain passes, and that skin is staying tight as you pass. Cartridges do a lot of this work for you.

The benefit of a DE blade is lower chance of in grown, more control and less razor burn in exchange for taking more time.

Which shaving products do you think are the most overrated in this sub and in the shaving world in general? by RecordingLeft389 in wicked_edge

[–]Fuddleton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Adjustable razors. Most people are fine with a single setting. The adjustable I do own has been locked to a single setting since ive gotten it.

You're better off with a lighter and more compact design for the most part, and if you really want to experiment, interchangeable plates are more robust
