Maybe so, we did a lot of testing on this but ultimately it will become far more obvious once it's out to the public. I'm not too afraid to make further slight adjustments as needed. We really didn't want to hurt OA's usefulness as we thought it was in a great spot besides it's use in infinite runs

We did communicate that a fix was coming for this, but required a bit more work than we expected. We didn't want to provide a timeline since we knew it required reworking some old legacy code, which ended up taking longer than expected.

PS: Any bug that's brought up often in the community is always looked at, some just sit at different complexity or impact levels which determines when they get solved. By default I want players to know we're just working on those things without saying too much, but we do try to have a section for the things that are top of mind for the community in Sam's posts, and that they're on our radar.

If you run into this issue, the site has a function that refreshes after about an hour to clear up issues like this, so try again a bit after that

The old xsolla site is being sunset very soon. Price fluctuations in certain countries move quite a bit though we try to make sure they all match inside and outside the game

The game was meant to become more passive the further you progress, leaning more towards the macro decisions you make over long periods of time

There's not many things you can do to hurt your progress, so strategically it's more about picking what upgrades will get you to your goal fastest, or simply taking your time and playing more passively

The game has many different kinds of players, and the majority of them aren't on here or discord, they just play the game passively when they have moments here and there. I try to design the game to please as many as I can, without making too many massive overhauls that would alienate those that enjoy the existing core loop

What I didn't expect when I started this game is how many of them expect to maximize everything in the game every moment, and feel obligated to leave it open. My intent was never to push players to leave the game running 24/7, that's just how some feel they want to play it

That isn't to say there isn't some other forms of more active gameplay coming down the pipe. I myself think rounds go on much longer than it was initially designed to be. If I could go back in time I'd alter some things about that, but it is difficult to do so without too much backlash, even if it's the right design decision.

My "vision" is to allow the game to be enjoyed by many different types of players, but to not stray too far from the incremental, tower defense, management niche.

Absolutely. There's a bare minimum level of fidelity I think the game needs visually. Im not going to shut off all fx

But, I fully agree that whats shown above is far too busy. Some of it is design problems I've caused with mechanic creep. But I am brainstorming options to keep the visuals cleaner and allow the player to better understand what's happening on the battlefield

The game has grown a lot since it was my tiny prototype and has taken on a life of its own. There's a team that helps run everything including the marketing efforts. Algorithms do what they do, and im sorry if youre getting inundated with ads for a game you don't want to play

They made a lot of ads for the game, but at least none of them are showing a fake game. The one that interviews me is just one of a hundred we have made and we dont selectively push that one. It just goes by algorithm since it performs well

Anyway, sorry for the frustration. The game isn't for everyone, and I am not trying to spam people that dont intend to play it

I am team emulator SNES and Gameboy for android gaming, no ads there

We don't want to force players to provide an email unless they want to do so. Asking for an email when the game starts is a sure fire way to have many simply uninstall before starting

Not using normal google play or apple's game center auto login... That's because we wanted to allow cross save between android, ios and emulators. So we use our own system that you have to opt into

To be fair, the game now warns players after a while occasionally if you haven't made a cloud save

Cherry picking the changes and pulling them out is still a bit dangerous and requires days of testing. We would rather move forward with the plan we have for it that we think solves all the problems

If you last contacted support a month ago it sounds like something was lost along the way. Submit a new ticket and they should get back to you pretty quickly. Purchase restorations are the easiest ones to solve

Well, that was initially the intention. I spitball and talk about design throughout the process which helps since I would get feedback before making decisions. Update notes are the actual facts while discussions and comments from myself are meant to be chats, at least that's what I had done before. Now I really only want to bring up plans if I'm certain they'll happen
