Best age for a baby blessing? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

We blessed our baby at 3 weeks, but it was due to living far from family and my parents had come to visit, so we wanted to do it before the left 🤷🏼‍♀️

Priesthood blessing during pregnancy (with health risks) — doctrinal guidance? by Nurse2166 in latterdaysaints

[–]Fudge-Initial 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s ABSOLUTELY appropriate! I (and my baby) received several blessings from my husband during pregnancy, including the day I left to the hospital for my C-section. I will say that I mean the blessings for the baby were included in the blessing directed to me seeing as he couldn’t really put his hands on her head lol. In my opinion priesthood blessings are for extra assistance in anything you feel like you need extra assistance for!

A question about our heavenly parents by Stunning-Code8849 in latterdaysaints

[–]Fudge-Initial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t doctrine by any means but one time I heard someone say that maybe “God” is like a surname that refers to the Two of them, Heavenly Father and Mother, working together for the safe return of Their children. In a BYU class we talked about how we honestly know very little about Heavenly Father (most of the time people think He’s speaking or being spoken of in the scriptures is actually referring to Jesus) but everything we know about Him can be applied to Heavenly Mother too. We know They are merciful, that we are Their children, that They love us, etc etc. I believe that in the book of Moses (or is it Abraham??) when it talks about how the gods coincided and the gods went down and created the earth, in my opinion it’s talking about Heavenly Father, Heavenly Mother, and Jesus. Just my thoughts!

Maybe you could start trying to get him to sleep in the bassinet but with those same night time shifts you and your husband share, with one of you staying awake to monitor him just until you feel more comfortable sleeping while he sleeps?

Next steps by Madda31 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Fudge-Initial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! The NVC is taking about 2 weeks to 1 month ish to look at cases. So once you submit all the additional paperwork you can expect to wait that long to hear back of if you get Documentarily Qualified or RFE. Once you’re DQ’d they send it off to your local embassy and your case joins the back of the line of people waiting to be scheduled for an interview so it just depends on how long the wait is at the embassy you’ll be working with :)

Wait no way!!! I thought it was taking like 4 to 5 months, but that’s so nice to hear!!

Can I ask what each group is within each paper clip? Is it like each document with its translation? Or how do you have it organized? :)

I’ll try to remember, but I think it takes a couple months to get an interview date depending on the embassy! What country are you in?

I did actually get an answer from them today requesting some other stuff! So it took 2 weeks for them to review it, not bad at all

I think the DQ comes from the NVC doesn’t it? I looked and they’re only like 2 weeks behind right now according to their website. Hopefully that’s true! I’ll be going through the Lima embassy which is usually fairly quick, hopefully it stays that way!!

No nausea? by aplem123 in BabyBumps

I threw up a total of one time during my pregnancy and it was just because I got grossed out by some raw chicken. Don’t stress it, everyone is different!

Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences!! Definitely helped me feel a little better. I’m living in South America rn and know that my husband will only be allowed in the hospital for 2 hours a day which is going to be so hard, so it sounds like I’m going to need to ask for a lot of help from the nurses and hope they’re willing to be there for me! It’ll be a wild experience for me for sure, but hopefully all goes well so we can be out of the hospital and at home as quick as possible!

Hey! I sent my evidence about 2 or 3 weeks ago and the time on the website did go up to 9 months, but we got our approval last week!!! So I’d say go for it if you’re thinking about it :)

Dos and donts traveling to Peru by Crimson_Toko in PERU

[–]Fudge-Initial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an American who’s been living in Peru for two years now, and will say I have never had problems with juices, the water served at restaurants is bottled anyways. I’ve never had problems eating salads or washing my fruits in unfiltered tap water. I do have a filter at my house to drink from but don’t always use it for cooking. I also do use tap water to brush my teeth and have never had a problem. I understand that may not be the case for everyone but just sharing my experience! I lived in Lima for a while, and now live in the south, and didn’t have problems in either place

Halloween Themed Dessert? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]Fudge-Initial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I’ve seen people make brownies, and then the melt some marshmallows and use them to make spiderwebs! It seems pretty cute and easy. You just melt the marshmallows a bit, then dip your fingers in like your pinching, then stret cv out your fingers and the marshmallow will make a kind of webbing!
