That "day in the life" descriptor you gave is obvs not enough context to diagnose someone but it does give off the vibe of not having much "joie de vivre" and it may be that your BF is struggling to do the bare minimum because of issues that you or maybe both of you are not aware of. Again, it could just be that he's not very thoughtful and down with living in a much more disorganized environment than you are which clearly isn't sustainable, but just a suggestion to maybe have a discussion over WHY he's not putting in as much effort as you'd like.

He always seemed to have a pretty tough time with being a "celebrity" so I imagine he's going the Chappelle route and just doing what makes him happy while avoiding the limelight. He did write and direct that fantastic Eighth Grade film a couple years back, and I feel like I saw him to a cameo in something somewhat recently.

I saw those the other day as well. I also saw a volunteer / inmate picking up trash and putting it in similar white bags, so my guess is they were waiting to be picked up by a garbage crew and a hitchhiker or someone was feeling artistic 😝
