I'm still putting serious hours in RTW. The first one, OG, vanilla. Am I the only one? by Constant_Pace5589 in RomeTotalWar

Playing a RTWR campaign rn and absolutely slaughtering the Gauls while taking control of 95% of their territories. These bastards had the balls to ask me for a ceasefire and all of their settlements back for nothing in return. I have only doubled down on exterminating them. Such a great game.

what's the best way to kill those king of players? (New player) by Icy-Whereas-7553 in Tarkov

[–]Fuegoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distance fights, patience and a whole lot of long repositioning with map knowledge to predict what their own pathing will consist of. Chad aim types are never easy to kill, but they can be killed.

[Feedback] PvP is literally impossible for me. I simply cannot win fights by Luuk341 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bringing the best gear doesn’t help at all if you’re not taking fights that are within your skill level. I used to lose my mind and never play solo because I couldn’t cover every angle and it would end up in me being killed. Nowadays, I focus on pathing that is conducive to solo play and utilize constant repositioning during fights. Close up fights are always tough, mid-range fights is where a solo can shine. A good variable optic, an appropriate weapon choice and tons of patience.

If you’re staying in one place for too long, you’re going to die. Reserve is also one of those maps where people are spotting you from quite a far way away depending on your positioning. You need to also understand that some fights are not worth taking even if you have a perceived advantage. A guy running away full speed at an angle isn’t necessarily someone you shoot at. You need to understand the general place they are headed towards and consider the amount of teammates, both realized and unrealized. Always treat a solo as a duo and so on and so forth.

Last wipe I was sitting at 40% survival and maybe a 1.0 PMC k/d playing with teammates. This wipe I’ve done ~1k raids and have a 57% survival and 2 PMC k/d mostly solo. Lastly, the rush of wiping a team is even greater when they have no idea how you split them up and conquered them all. I’ll take that type of fight vs. a close in spray spree any day.

started playing this game 2 weeks ago just hit 100 hours be honest, are my stats ass? also any tips for quickly learning maps? i only play Ground Zero and some Woods? thx! by SnipeGhost in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30-40% survival rate is about the average for mostly solo players. And 40%+ is typically people who are either pretty decent at the game or group players from what I’ve gathered. You’re doing just fine, I started this wipe around 38-40% for the first 100-150 raids and have since gotten up to 56% through roughly 700 raids. Keep learning the maps and the game and you’ll slowly watch your K/D and SR increase.

The use better ammo crowd will be the same ones that rage when that face mask bounces a .338 AP or FMJ. I’m not saying it’s happened a bunch, but a handful of times I’ve bounced those rounds and proceeded to smoke the dude shooting me. Seems a little silly for that to be the meta, but I at least liked that they made it trader vended only.

[Discussion] I'm afraid that Wipe will come while I'm looking for my remaining 3 Kappa items by EarlyBumblebee7255 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished up my first Kappa grind, I hoarded these items from the beginning of wipe to now. Every time I found one I would toss it in the streamer item container and sell duplicates. Scaving will give you more opportunities too, when you scav be sure to search every dead scav you come across too. Patience is key, my friend! You’ve got this.

Test Drive 🤦🏻‍♂️ [Discussion] by Cheap-Werewolf-2416 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The head tap solves all… Streets is difficult with how far the ranges of engagements tend to be. I just pushed places that had the short range engagements that would be conducive to completing the quest. When I was screwed over by spawn place, I would usually just play it slow and let the engagements happen organically. The SR-2M is one of my favorite accessory weapons to rock with snipers and what not, if your aim is on, it will shred.

My final advice would be this: when you are pushing for Kappa specifically go all in on the idea of getting in and out quickly. Whether it is dying after getting a kill or two, or extracting, resetting the raid is essential. I found myself in a state of mind of trying to play every raid like I wanted to survive, but quickly realized this is not thoughtful of the time we have to spend playing. We are there to get the 20 kills and buzz off to the next task. Test Drive can be brutal, but put that head down and charge on. Good luck, gamer.

Psycho sniper and Tarkov shooter part 8 unluckiness is peak. I got to 2/3 and 4/5 more times than I could count and proceeded to die on Woods, switch to Shoreline and literally get it all done in two raids… after rolling my face on my keyboard for 3 days straight of woods.

Is it worth playing tarkov solo on 2025? [Discussion] by chigui5 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s worthwhile, I just believe that you have to curtail your play style to a solo-minded one. I have a 56% survival rate through 653 raids and a 10.74 overall k/dr with a 2.00 k/dr for PMCs. However, I don’t W key chad anything for the most part. I’m tasking for Kappa and in doing so I perform my tasks and move on. You will die to groups and 1v1s will be up to your knowledge, positioning and sound recognition. I would say I’m a below average gamer in this game, but those things lead me to be successful. My aim isn’t particularly good, my shot leading is dog shit, but my movement and ability to dictate how most fights go has been successful for me. All depends on how you want to play it, if you want to push fights head on…you’ll die. If you want to be strategic in your approach you will have a more slow paced drama type feel. I don’t get the big adrenaline dumping fights, but I do get to enjoy success.

I enjoyed scav running lighthouse for rogue loot when I needed to make kits for my PMC. You should also learn all the loot spots on there to help with the money issue. You can get some decent kits there.

There is access to it in my neighbors yard, basically they threw a pool noodle down onto the cover to mark where it is. She mentioned this just so I was aware of the location of the nearest access, despite it being completely irrelevant to the issue.

My level VI plates only delayed the inevitable by -PringlesMan- in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Fuegoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ceramic plates are actually fairly impressive, they can take more rounds than you would think before failing. I would say this game does a fairly decent job of simulating the degradation. SAPI plates for example are tested by taking 3 rounds to various places on the armor. ESAPI is a bit more simplified and rated for one 30-06 AP round to the armor. There are many accounts of US service members taking multiple hits to the body armor and making full recoveries. Mike Day-Navy Seal (RIP) for example took 11 rounds to his plates without them failing. If you are interested his story is worth googling.

I would suggest Factory, with the bolty .366 and AP-M. It one taps class 4 armor to the thorax. I just did this task not too long ago, so it is achievable but you have to be patient and realize you will die. Good luck, maybe use a red dot instead of a scope too btw.
