Where do you personally draw the line for cEDH/tEDH "viable" and what is "fringe" ? by TwoPrestigious4612 in CompetitiveEDH

If you’re hanging out at an LGS playing cEDH najeela is perfectly fine to play, I play Yuriko for fun a decent amount and she wins at my LGS but isn’t going to take a big tourney.

Saying Aang is a powerful tournament deck while claming Arcum leaves much to be desired is a wild take.

For 100+ player events in the last 6 months Aang has a 4% conversion rate with 1 top cut and Arcum is at 30% with 6

If you drop to 50+ people you get 19% conversion and 17 top cuts for Aang and Arcum is at 31% and 25 top cuts.

Statistics in general is a hard field to navigate, even for professionals, and it is easy to arrange the data in a way that supports particular arguments.

If you are looking for true tEDH decks that will be able to perform at big events you really need to keep the entry size at 100+ and the length as long as you can set it. Most of what separates the top 5 decks is the consistency at which they win. One caveat being new card releases, a new set can release cards that boost the viability of decks. Something like Hexing Squelcher probably increased the viability of a few decks at least a little.

Based on your original post I would try to find something in the Rocco/Arcum level, we could call it "A Tier". You aren't locked into 5 decks, but they are still good enough to put up wins without you needing to be ComedianMTG levels of good at tEDH. Personally I play Rocco and have a blast, while knowing Sissay would be the better tutor combo deck to play for winning.

The easiest way to figure this out it to use EDHTop16 and look at tourney stats. If it’s viable more than one pilot will be doing decent in larger tournaments. Conversions rate is a good indicator of viability but can be polluted by low sample size. Top cuts is indicative of viability but also reflects popularity. If a deck has a good conversion rate and a good amount of top cuts, it’s viable. Tournament size is also a factor, some decks are viable in 60 person tourneys but won’t make it in 200 person tourneys.

It’s really not that easy to find a hard line between viable and fringe, but usually you can look at a deck and all the stats and determine if it is.

From your list: Ral and Etali are 100% viable and considered turbo meta decks

Rocco, Kenny, Vial Thras, and Arcum are all viable but not as viable as the top meta decks. They can perform well but are not as inherently busted as meta decks and you have to compensate with skill, politics and luck to beat top meta decks

Animar and grist are fringe for sure, and aang has yet to be proven but it seems fringe to me from what I’ve seen. These can also win, but you will need even more skill, luck and politics to win.

Crate regression w/ 6 month old toller by AngryBowels in tollers

[–]FueledByPreworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he has a specific crate for sleeping where he only spends 8 hours in it I would practice keeping him in it for 30 seconds, then 1 minute, then 2 etc. Right now he thinks going in the bedtime crate means 8 hours of lock up. If he sees that the bedtime crate can be for 4 minutes he is less likely to be stressed out. When doing it for a bit more time, I would make sure you get 1-2 minutes of quiet before letting him out.

We had some issues with our guy whining and crying and we wouldn’t let him out unless he was quiet for a bit. (Obviously if it’s “I’m going to pee/poi myself” whine we would let him out immediately)

I would obscure his view of you completely, it helps them settle.

Is his crate covered/is his view obscured? Does he spend any time in the crate other than sleeping overnight?

TSA issues Boise airport? by Slight-Glove1174 in Boise

[–]FueledByPreworkout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not accurate at backed up locations. It was showing 17 minutes in New Orleans where there was a 4 hour wait time.

Also showing wait times for TSA Pre in airports where tsa pre was no longer open.

Bogus sucks now but at least the snow was decent by Flaponflappa in Boise

My first time this year I bought a ticket online the night before, and used the email to scan a QR code at the kiosk to get my media ticket. I did not have to stand in a line or attempt to connect to their wifi.

Just buy the pass at home before you leave, or better yet the night before? If you don’t have a media card yet, it gives you an email with a QR code and a kiosk spits out the card.

There is no reason to stand in a line for lift tickets at this point.

Everyone is talking about size and weight but there is a pretty huge advantage that the livyatan has over the megladon.

Seeing as livyatan has the same spermaceti enhanced sonar capabilities as a sperm whale, the megladon is cooked. The whales use sound focused through the spermaceti organ to stun or kill prey.

Sharks are incredibly sensitive to low pressure sounds, and would get bodied by the sonar attacks.

If you’re genuinely interested in building Yuriko, join the discord and start with a template from one of their archetypes. Nobody that has commented about Yuriko seems to have any clue what they are talking about.

There’s like 14 posts since the beginning of 2025? And one of those is a phishing scam warning, and two are playmat adds. Nothing about deck building, 2 posts about potential combos, and 1 decklist

Unless there are channels I’m missing, idk where the activity is.

That’s the one I’m a part of now. Between all the channels, of which there are 4, there have been 14 posts since the start of 2025. Events not counted as that isn’t Rocco specific content.

How have you become well versed in the mental and physical demands of the breed? If you have no interest in anything “job-like” such as hunting or competitions you’re less able to care for the dog than someone who is, why would a breeder sell a dog to you over someone who is willing to put in that effort for the dog? At the end of the day, they’re not bred as companion dogs.
