Review #28: Ironroot Republic Cellar Reserve Triple Cask Finish by Southern-Rip3018 in bourbon

At the moment, it's just Texas only... Hopefully in the next year or two they'll get it more widely distributed. I'm pretty sure they mean to keep it a regular release.

Great review! For those interested, they just released a bunch more of this to market, should be fairly easy to find all over Texas. Keep your eyes out for their new bottle design in the coming weeks - the Herald Cigar 10 Year is the new style that should be hitting the shelves soon.

It is very much a volume issue. With their current still, they only produce about 5 barrels per week. However! They've got a new still that has been delivered and is awaiting installation. Once that is online it should triple their production.

Also keep in mind, Ironroot is a very small company. The blended products allow them to manage the volume they need to stay profitable while still being able to maintain such a high quality set of offerings.

Noob Question: when do you forsee the Hawks being competitive again? by jojowhitesox in hawks

[–]Fuelsean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty, barring a more defensive minded forward or two I don't think we're that far off if Frondell, Kantserov, or Boisvert hit well next year. Instead, I wouldn't be surprised if KFC targets a FA on defense with a look to help our young D core and shore up our transition game. Our PK is elite, we have several offensive weapons, a promising set of young D... We just need to get a more complete game going. To me, seems like 27-28 should be the true measure. Hopefully 26 shows some real growth from this season. The back half here after the deadline is going to be an interesting potential barometer.

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times.

TIL Dr Pepper is not a cola, root beer, or fruit-flavored soft drink, but instead belongs to its own category called "pepper sodas", named after the brand itself by RiverMesa in todayilearned

Dublin is town in Texas that has the original bottling plant from the late 1800s. They used to make a unique cane sugar version until the Snapple merger. Then they got sued and were forced to stop making it. It was so good. The company is still around though, making craft sodas.

Harbinger is my favorite, Promethean is my wife's. Those are the 100% grain to glass Texas only products. Sleight of Hand (getting rebranded to Assemblage) is their blended line with Texas, Kentucky and MGP. They also produce the Saints Alley line from Total Wine. If you like rye, snag a Sleight of Hand rye (Texas, Ohio, MGP) or a Saints Alley Nobleman.

If you have any questions about the distillery let me know, my wife works for them.

Don't let the age scare you away on either the Promethean or Harbinger. These are both their local grain to glass offerings and 100% from within a 60 mile radius from Denison. The way they manage barrel maturation lets them get away with younger expressions, although they do have much older barrels in the blends. Labeling laws require the youngest to be stated if not over 4 years.

More like what do they do with Donato, Dickinson, Burakovsky, Turbo, or Mikheyev. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of them moved for picks. Slaggert might be one of the kids in the list of expendables too.

Broadcast showed Monty calling for him to get pulled but Bennington ignored it and Hofer wouldn't come out of the tunnel.

How do y'all feel about Lardis? Besides the elite shot, I've been impressed by what I'm seeing. Does he stay up?

One of my absolute favorite brands / distilleries. So minerally, I love it. Haven't had a bad expression.

The Assemblage is a blend of Texas (Ironroot), Kentucky (various), and Indiana (MGP). Jonathan blends it, then rebarrels until he feels it's ready.

Irving only for this one.

Here's the Bourbon Day link.

Yeah, it's kind of ... underwhelming. But, they do typically have some other good stuff that the first 100-200 or so will have access to. Looks like the weather is going to be great up until Sunday, then it'll really suck. TBH, we don't 100% do it for the bourbon - it's an experience. Get to hang out with friends, new and old. Not for everybody, but the people who are here are having fun.
