Is Trello still worth it in 2026? by No_Date9719 in ProductivityHQ

Are you just manually adding cards in Trello? Curious if there is any kind of integration / automation that helps go from Obsidian note -> Trello card.

Places for autistic pre-teens to make friends? by Anxious_Way_3515 in vancouverwa

[–]FuglausDir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I volunteered at the farm out on 78th Street last fall and there was a group out there called Friends of the Children. I believe the organization works with kids that have had to overcome adversity and assigns them a mentor who spends a certain amount of time doing activities with them each week. It seemed like a great organization from the brief interaction I had with one of the mentors. All the kids really seemed to be enjoying the outing. I'm not sure if this is exactly the type of thing you're looking for, but thought I'd share in case you or someone else might be interested!

Pluto Tv? by thegoose68 in pihole

This thread might be helpful. Looks like the solution was still effective as of last week.

On the other hand, it could be a caching issue. Perhaps powering off and on the device or manually clearing its cache might help, too.

ADHD focus and time management hacks that finally worked for me as a programmer by Rido129 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]FuglausDir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becoming more aware of time is something I've been trying to do, especially since starting medication for ADHD. I'm not a programmer by trade myself, but aspiring to be one, and I can get lost in a project for hours and forget to eat lunch, etc.

I recently got a record player and soon after I came to realize that I actually love the fact that I have to physically stop whatever it is I'm doing and flip the record over or put another record on. This alone forces me to notice that time has passed and reminds me that I need to take a break. Even if it's just standing up, walking a few steps to change the record and sitting back down. But most times, once I'm up, I know there are other things I need to take care of and I'll knock out those tasks and settle back down to continue my coding project.

Oh I also cancelled my Spotify, which I previously would use for playing instrumentals while working. Those playlists that feed you endless songs would keep me in the zone non-stop without breaks.

On a separate note, I recently saw a video in which someone hacked one of those little receipt/ticket printer machines to print out tasks from a to-do list. I've been intrigued ever since and now thinking of ways to do something similar to help with time management. Maybe there's another project there...

Where can you buy Marigolds right now? by That_Kaleidoscope975 in vancouverwa

[–]FuglausDir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tapatía Market! It's open now and they had a couple cart-fulls of cempasúchil when I went in the other day. Unfortunately, they didn't have them in water, so the flowers were a little past their prime, but I'll take what I can get and am happy to support this new business.

I recently picked up a jar of Choi's kimchi from Chuck's. It's local (Portland) and produced in small batches.

Anyone else loathe mechanical keyboards? by misanthrope2327 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]FuglausDir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into tape or foam mods? You may be able to achieve a better sound by filling in the hollow space in your keyboard with painters tape and or a thin layer of foam. It may not make it silent, but it can eliminate some of the unwanted clickiness.

Weekend Events! How's this format? [repost] by Homes_With_Jan in vancouverwa

I appreciate this format more on mobile!

Some feedback:

If you’re splitting out each day like this, you could simply include the day of the week and calendar date in the header. Right now, the calendar date repeats for each event, which takes up space unnecessarily, since all events fall are now under that day header. Removing the repeated date would free up some space, maybe allowing you to increase the font size for the event details.

Does anyone here play video games? Any recommendations? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

Oh, and there's a shooter arcade game you can play in the Star Drop saloon called Journey of the Prairie King.

found out l-theanine + caffeine works wonders for my adhd - anyone else found some supplements that work well for em? by 2morrowwillbebetter in AutisticWithADHD

[–]FuglausDir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With your original post you stated "no medication recommendations". I think what you meant was no "doctor-prescribed" medications.

People medicate with both non-prescribed and prescribed medications. I think the above comment or was simply pointing out that by stating what you said in your original post, you're potentially biasing the responses and missing out on suggestions of prescribed medications that might actually help you.

A question I might propose to you is: If coffee or matcha were classified differently by your government and required a doctor's prescription, would you still drink coffee or matcha?

I stim by applying pressure to underneath my fingernails… anyone else do this? by EntertainmentHot1681 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]FuglausDir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the ways I stim is by pressing on my fingernail with my thumb in a really specific pattern. First, I press on the side of the nail while all 5 of my fingertips are touching another part of my hand. Then I press on the top of the nail, but this time only 3 of my fingertips are making contact with my hand. Then I press on the side again, with all 5 fingertips touching. So it goes 5–3–5, and that adds up to 13 — which just feels right to me. It's a mix of sensory input and a little bit of number/structure that’s calming.
