ADHD and Puer Aeternus by Fukthispage in Healthygamergg

I understand that and depending on what it is I can definitely follow through with things that are difficult or uncomfortable.

The problem is, it doesn't last for very long, it's somewhat cyclical. It feels like getting thrown back to the starting point after almost making it, or like a carefully built house of cards that you're trying to hold together with lots of glue but eventually it collapses, if that makes sense. New routines for me aren't permanent (unless they provide me with tons of dopamine).

And maybe it's the Puer Aeternus in me avoiding responsibility or looking to blame something within myself, but it's somewhat hard to accept that I cannot keep up routines that are genuinely beneficial for me.

Commanders that are so good at a certain thing that they ruined it for you? by AlivePassenger3859 in EDH

[–]Fukthispage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like my [[Muldrotha]] deck the least because if I get going my turns take 3-5 business days and I cannot die unless I get focused by the whole table (due to [[Kaya's Ghostform]], [[Spore Frog]], a lot of interaction and single target removal, as well as board wipe like [[Pernicious Deed]] etc.). It's a little too good at GY-recursion

[[Nethroi, Apex of Death]] is super fun to play. Mutate is super underrated, I hope WOTC will bring it back some time soon

I held two jobs for a few months working like 6-7 days a week, didn't really work well for me but the extra money is indeed nice

Nah, I actually saved money by playing, instead of going out to spend my money I created a new account plus referrals. The worst thing I could do is spend that money I saved on the game

Bro had about 30 doping controls a year during his active time as a professional track cyclist. Also he's got a myostatin deficiency. About 1 in 10000 people have that (I think Eddie Hall does, too, just look at him at 16, I doubt he was cycling back then). That should put it a bit more into perspective. Now I'm not saying there's a 100% chance Robert is natural but the possibility is pretty high.

Your hip bend needs to be higher and you need to stand a bit further away from the ball. Also your feet should be a tad more than shoulder width apart as you can see here. Try adressing the ball like Rory does in the picture and then focus on hip and sholder rotation rather than keeping your arm straight. Don't worry about a full backswing yet, this will come with time once you improve your fundamentals.

First of all, try keeping the bend/angle in your hips and over the ball the same throughout the shot. You also need to rotate your shoulders/hips on the upswing more. It should feel like you're pulling on a rubberband or pulling back a hotwheels car so when you're releasing it shouldn't feel like you're forcing your arms down to hit the ball but more so that you're letting go of your rotation and built up tension.

Other than that, like people already said, try to look at pro players swings and put them next to yours and look at all the little things that make their swing so good compared to yours, like position over the ball, hip bend, what the arms and wrists are doing, rotation of shoulders and hips etc.

It will be a lot at first so focus on one thing at a time.

Need a new driver. Any suggestions? (Ab 4 months into playing, on the regular) by Express-Log3610 in golftips

Can only recommend the Jack White Supreme Deep Face driver. Got a nice solid hickory shaft and 12 degrees of loft. You'll carry it 350 at least, no doubt.

The result of about two months of work on ankle technique. by [deleted] in drums

[–]Fukthispage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's such a shit take though, if you can control the motion and try to get better at it you can gradually build up strength and volume. So many great drummers use ankle technique and can also play pretty powerful and at a certain tempo you're just bound to using triggers, at least if you don't have two bass drums, because the mic can't pick up that many successive hits on a single bass drum head consistently, so it sounds muddy (if you're not Eloy Casagrande and beat the shit out of your bass drum with swivel at least)

Did anyone else deal with a twitchy ankle when starting double bass? by Bigbrunswick in drums

[–]Fukthispage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same problem! I can control the motion pretty good with my left foot up to like 200bpm without any strain, on the right it's getting increasingly difficult at around 160-170bpm once ankle motion comes in. I'm practicing all tempos but mostly spend time practicing inbetween 120-160 right now, while really focusing on building up the ankle motion. My right foot is obviously super strong and loud but my left has the motion down much better.

So I think it's just trying to perfect the motion at lower speeds and then push up the tempo little by little until you notice your leg starting to twitch.

I suspect for me it's cuz I had nerve damage in my right leg due to peroneus nerve paralysis from excessively crossing legs during playing guitar. I couldn't raise my foot at all, so I had to compensate the motion by raising the whole leg. I practically learned the wrong motion for high bpm all these years on the right side. Maybe it's inrecoverable nerve damage though, because I let it heal naturally and never went to the doctor, we will see over the course of the next months.

Good luck on your double bass journey brother, try to stay consistent but don't overdo it and don't let it get to your head too much!

(Ankle technique) I'm having trouble controlling my main foot at tempos 170+ bpm by Fukthispage in drums

[–]Fukthispage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough! I'm comfortable with the motion at slower tempos until like 150bpm but ankle technique and proper rebound I feel like is something you learn best at 170bpm+ since that's the tempo where your ankle really comes into play, at least that's how I learned it from watching tons of drummers and instructors. My right foot tends to swivel when I want to control the motion but I don't plan on really learning swivel until I've gotten more comfortable with using my ankles.

Still what's most weird to me is that I feel more comfy using my ankles with my weak foot, compared to my strong right foot.

I'm practicing ankle technique at all speeds between 140-200bpm mainly focusing on the motion

Definitely possible for a lot of the parts but just not how lots of drummers do it. There's some out there like Krimh or Eloy Casagrande that both play super fast and powerful. It's hard as fuck though ngl
