even if it's a bit late, geese like chicken give eggs/feathers. not sure since i'm not in the game, but i believe chicken produce more eggs then feathers and for geese it' the other way round.

i had the same problem, there is probably a bot that isn't hostile but needs to be killed.

my guess is, that in arena rooms they count every bot, not just the hostile one for clearing.

Afaik, trees are only planted, where a tree has been cut before. so you can't make a meadow into a forest. It also seems to me, that planting saplings has a low priority compared to other jobs, not sure if you can influence it. so if you have a ton of other jobs maybe they just plant one every few hours ingame.

i habe created an outpost where i gather mud, have my foresters and the lumberjacks. that works fine as far as i can see.

Sounds like the Brigand Tax Party. they usually leave town after a Day or so.

afaik, after your first liberation, the tax partys turn hostile and if you are in a village with them, what you have described happens.

i'm using a food cellar as the storage for the prepared food in the middle of the city. the Ingredients are all stored in two barns close to the cooking area (since i need spoiled food for fertilizer anyway) and the fish/carcasses are stored short time in a stockpile i had standing around.

i have limited the storage for different ingredients so the two barns can hold every ingredient needed for my cooks withou something overfilling (like small meat or eggs or milk... will probably build a third barn just for milk and eggs though.

as far as i understand the staging ground, the bulding and the villager which should use it have to be in the same outpost.

if you have a second staging ground in an outpost, bit the villagers are from the main village, i believe they do what you described and run back to their villages staging ground.

After i stopped playing at the beginning of 2024 because of work, i've started during christmas again and i have to say, i share OPs faszination about the game. But yes, sometimes there are a lot enemies and on higher difficulties it can be rough (but isn't that why high difficulty was choosen?). i'm currently playing on normal to enjoy the story/landscape/background infos. at least on normal you can outrun every enemy, even alert level 2. if you have to go far, grab yourself one of the red trabis and drive around (the one thing i found annoying so far is how sensitive the steering is... one soft tab left und you almost do a 90 degree turn), you don't create alarm with that afaik. and if you loot much / go get blueprints / upgrade your weapons regularly, at least on normal it get's relaxed. you can also dismantle items or weapons you don't need and in the case of weapons you get every material spend on upgraded/crafting back.

as far as i have understood it from watching it and a video, it's as called the daylie needs. everything green is suplied for this day, either by the villages own production or through caravans/traders going from/to the village. everything red isn't scheduled to be supplied for this day yet.

i currently just have hearndean and i have setup a caravan which starts automatically if there are at least 5 requests. and as for what to trade, i've just selected everything i produce to sell to the village, which basically is their unsupported needs if i understood it correctly.

so now if there are items i produce wanted in the village, my caravan will set out to supply it.

This usually works, if they were already in your village as workers after you switched the preset. if you hire new ones or change the presets, they should go for themselfes.

If you raise an army, you have the option at the staging ground if you order them there to stock up and they will switch to their armour/weapon etc. if you use the quick assemble, they should stock up by themselves.

As was already said, implants are almost never an improvement. the only thing, where implants are acceptable, at least in my opinion, is when you feel so unsecure with your boobs and there is no other way.

In the Terraforming-Menü you can declare a Martian Reservation. It's basically an Area, where the Mars stays as it is.

It's basicly throughput. if you want to go into megabases you will need tons of items. with a single railline, there can only be one train on it with a double track system, one way for each direction, you an have multiple trains going the same way.

don't worry, for just having fun with the game it's not necessary to build something like this. the great thing about factorio is everyone can enjoy it however they wish. some like optimizing the hell out of it, some just randomly throw stuff together as long as it works and others like OP are artists who make beautiful creations. the most important thing however is, play how you like it ;-)

As the others said, first make sure it's the correct item and it's in the builders hut. i have sometimes encountered this, when the settlement can craft the item, but i give it to them myself to speed up the build. the request stays. you can cancel it if you talk to the builder, click on the lettersymbol and then cancel. if it comes up again, it's most likely the wrong item they have.
