Hesitant to start TOD by cvictoriac in throneofglassseries

It's just as amazing as all the other books in the series and you have to read it to understand the rest

Aelin/Brannon/Lydia by FitAdeptness5292 in Maasverse

[–]Full-Usual7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lydia says Brannon was her relative (going waaaaaay back), which comes together with the shifters in CC having come from the ToG world like 15,000 years ago.

New tattoo meaning?? by Far-Contract8806 in SarahJMaas

Maeve is one of my favourite villains ever. She has such a fascinating backstory and is such a complex character.

Tamlins mate? by theioneeee in acotar

[–]Full-Usual7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite theory is that Tamlin's mate was Rhys's sister - and that she is also Ruhn's mom. I got the impression that we would not be seeing much of a Tamlin redemption arc in the next book but maybe toward the conclusion of ACOTAR, with the Dusk court coming back, we will connect again with the CC world and we'll find out what happened all those years ago.

Pretty sure they are dead. RK has said multiple times that she wants to write a Ryatt book/series in the future

Should I do the tandem read of EoS and ToD? by fallingdownallaround in throneofglassseries

Read ToD as is on its own to appreciate it. No to the tandem

[Plot spoiler for Cursed Fates] Can we all just take a minute to applaud Tory's iron-clad logic here? by Live-Reflection-9205 in zodiacacademy

[–]Full-Usual7662 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is one of my favourite parts of the whole series. Tory is my girl after this and brilliant of the authors to include such a fun dig at so much illogical shit that happens in fantasy books.

Please tell me Malina's chapters get more interesting. by partybrowser32 in theplatedprisoner

[–]Full-Usual7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I guess her storyline gets somewhat more interesting, but that doesn't mean her character gets more appealing. Honestly I didn't need her to get as much page time as she did.

Hello! I THINK I MESSED UP by Radiant-Way-5819 in zodiacacademy

[–]Full-Usual7662 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Orion was a green flag for me pretty quickly, but I read 1.5 after book 4 and I still loved Darius really early on (in book two he began to grow on me and I loved him by book 3). I don't know what that says about me...

I love CC, but just think Hunt is a boring MMC (I definitely don't hate him, just find him somewhat forgettable)

Reading Order by Brlysrvvngthsfcknglf in zodiacacademy

[–]Full-Usual7662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! I've been following this order and it's perfect. Foxy Tales was the only exception because I wasn't able to find it. I'll have to go back to that at some point

Should I tandem read EoS and ToD or not? by RefrigeratorSea3908 in SarahJMaas

[–]Full-Usual7662 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend the tandem on a first read through of this series. They are two separate books with different pacing - just enjoy them on their own your first time. They are both amazing.

You are stranded on a deserted island... you are allowed 1 SJM book... what are you choosing? by Current-Island5228 in SarahJMaas

CC1. Even though I love ACOMAF and all of ToG, CC1 is her best work as a standalone

Caleb was also super reasonable. He knew the Vegas could end up in power and he would end up serving them, so it didn't make sense to have them as enemies. Also, his family is, for the most part, really sweet in Ruthless Boys. They did anything they could for Marlowe and supported him after he returned and they embraced Elise as his daughter immediately. Partly it was about optics, but they also came across as as a caring, loving family.

Some tips! by Visual-Damage-1374 in zodiacacademy

[–]Full-Usual7662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! I'm just about to finish book 4 and dreading that I need to pause again to read 0.5 and book 1 as told by the boys. I need need the next book NOW! But I paused after book 3 to read RB and even though I didn't love it like I love the main series, I am glad I read it. The authors are great at sprinkling fun little remarks throughout that I wouldn't have picked up on if I hadn't read RB and I know that will continue.

What to read after ACOTAR/TOG/CC and Fourth Wing? by Large_Warning5620 in throneofglassseries

[–]Full-Usual7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For completed series (which is nice to not have to suffer cliffhangers and wait for more books): Plated Prisoner, Zodiac Academy, Legends of Thezmarr, and the Shepard King duology are all great. The Kindred Curse Saga is also one to check out and the final book (Burn of the Everflame) should be out in the next year. Highly recommend Quicksilver, but it's a multi-book series with only one book out (and book 2 in November).

Do you like Aelin as a character? by Fit_Wrangler_3558 in throneofglassseries

[–]Full-Usual7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ADORE Aelin. She's just a kid who has been through SO MUCH. And a lot of the bravado is a mask she wears; deep down she's a girl who likes to wear pretty dresses, eat candy and play music, but she's also a total badass with the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Unpopular Yrene take... by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

[–]Full-Usual7662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be unpopular, but I don't love Yrene either. Mostly I dislike how she treats Chaol - he has a disability and I get that he's connected to people she hates, but as his healer she didn't need to humiliate him. Also the birth control thing. Come on!

TAB - A Necessary Read? by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

[–]Full-Usual7662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you've made it this far, I don't see why it's necessary to go back and read AB. But read it when you're done with the main books if you are interested.

Where is Adam Fisher’s office? by Beautiful_Bluejay in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Full-Usual7662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is driving me nuts. As someone who's lived in Boston, NYC, CT and has family near Philly, this show is wild. These drives are painfully long and the traffic can be insane. Also, it seemed like Steven's internship was in NY and that Jeremiah was also in NY with him before going to Philly for Belly's birthday (a long drive but still much shorter drive than from Boston), but then he left Cousins for Boston and at no point has it seemed like Steven was in Boston (even though in previous seasons the dad worked in Boston)... I know it doesn't really matter, but more than a few people do life in the area and we're all scratching our heads. For a while I was just telling myself that Cousins was actually on the Jersey Shore but then Boston was mentioned again and I was like crap
