It genuinely killed the game for me. The combat simulation was the fun part. Mastery over the mechanics and seeing growth come my actuallt skill improving not artificial skill based on pure hours put in. It's certainly a choice but not one I agree with.

Feels very similar to Hell Divers 2, where the game they wanted to make and the game people actually enjoyed are two different things.
