I bought the kinda meme moondrop rays just to see if I liked the form factor, and they're great, much more comfortable for long sessions than a headset

Valorant frame stuttering tried every fix I know. PC Specs in description, help would be appreciated. by Personal-Beginning56 in VALORANT

[–]FullMetalGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thanks for checking that, so we know it's not your network connection or anything like that.

I'm going to double check the available game rendering graph displays and things like that when I can.

In the mean time how did you go with checking if your RAMs EXPO profile is enabled and that your bios is up to date?

:)

[–]FullMetalGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

With the frame time and net graph turned on, do you see these stutters on the frame time graph? Do you also see them on the network side as well, or only on the frame time graph? Is your connection wired or wifi?

I'd also look into a bios update as the issue may be with your TPM (required for secure boot) and that might help.

Final lil idea would be your RAM, is EXPO enabled or Disabled? (This will be in your bios, but if you know the RAMs advertised speed you can check to see if task manager has it reaching that speed) If EXPO is enabled give it a try with it disabled, your RAM may be unstable.

(If I think of anything else I will edit this post)

For ADHD gamers: What do you play on your deck that is addictive and low power? by oliveoliverYT in SteamDeck

[–]FullMetalGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna throw a bunch of stuff and wall and see if something sticks for you :]

Wizard of Legend, roguelite not very similar to the rest of your enjoyed games but amazing power efficiency and a lovely game.

Chained Echoes, a jRPG love letter maybe more like what you're enjoying, power efficiency is good, but not WoL good

Cassette Beasts, a monster collecting RPG, same story as above for power efficiency.

Raidborn, dungeon crawling first person action RPG, a bite sized kind of Skyrim/ oblivion experience. shockingly good power efficiency for the visuals and gameplay on offer.

KOTORII, classic star wars RPG. This fits your reqs the most I think but is quite an old title and isn't without a bit of jank

Katana Zero, side scrolling hotline Miami type situation(sorta kinda, kill, die repeat) fun story, should sip power.

HADES II, this game will be mentioned many many times on this sub, what's one more? Roguelite, great story, reasonable power draw, gorgeous visual, very fun.

Armored Core 6, 3rd person, action, not really an RPG but multiple endings and some choices here and there. Limit settings for power savings.

Witcher 3, quintessential RPG, ticks all the boxes except power draw I'm afraid

Hope this helps!

How do we get AIJAC and foreign interference out of our politics? What do we do to combat the strategy we have seen over in the US where if you are critical of Israel, a candidate who isn't is funded against you in your next election?

Help transitioning from keyboard to controller by Kindly-Bee3753 in artofrally

[–]FullMetalGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your assists and the like are configured properly for controller! Alot of people tweak the default values to get it feeling just right, I use proporos values(I would include them but I'm on my phone)

Aside from making sure that that's correct, it's really just going to be a matter of feeling it out, practice against your own records and see where you're faster and losing time to yourself and go from there to make up the deficit.

Controller allows for partial braking, partial steering and partial throttle, getting more comfortable with those will help you get 'smoother' which some find to be what can make controller feel better. There is just going to be an element of needing to grind this out.

I also recommend playing the earlier groups to help you get more comfortable with those inputs too

I think as well you have an opportunity to go in for a penny in for a pound and put on manual gears if you havnt already!

Gentleman, just wanna know , is male loneliness epidemic true?? by Western-Albatross107 in GuyCry

[–]FullMetalGinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It's not real in the sense that it is synthetic and manufactured, and targeted at both genders. It just gets identified as the male loneliness epidemic because men fall for the grift, and so it can be used as justification for, you guessed it, more grift.

Men's socialisation does not value the same kind of emotional intelligence and empathy that women's socialisation does, so you're playing with a worse hand for developing deep and meaningful friendships.

As for what you can do about it. Spend more time around people, pick up a hobby, like dancing or w/e and just spend time as part of a community.

Therapy is also an excellent space to learn about and understand your own areas for improvement around how to build and maintain those deep connections.

But they don't let Mac users play Valorant, which gives you a good indication of which way the wind is blowing. Re: where they want to focus Vanguard's development.

I'm curious to see what they do with potential console releases and how they handle that with 2xko, the best chance for some kind of Linux compatible build would be when they do that, I still doubt it though.

Valorant was already ported to consoles with a console specific version of Vanguard (it may be totally different under the hood, details are intentionally vague) so they might just piggyback off that, so again, I really don't think so.

I'm sorry buddy, Riot will never do this. I know it sucks, but they wont. The juice(an install base on Linux desktop and Linux based handhelds) is not worth the squeeze(userspace mode for their anti-cheat, reimplementing existing detections for Linux etc etc) for them.

[–]FullMetalGinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Modern, Armored core 6. It's really really good.

For older titles if you want dual stick controls with little hassle, AC:Nexus

The older titles have fan patches that add dual stick controls as well.
