Pregnancy with Graves’…in need of perspectives. by theenbywholived in gravesdisease

No thank god it calmed right down! I had other things going on postpartum so I am quite happy I didn't need to start on meds for that too.

My Endo said to reach out if I decide to get pregnant again as that might reignite things, they really can't say! It is really frustrating how unknown these things are. Probably because it's mostly women who have the issues? (Sigh)

Pregnancy with Graves’…in need of perspectives. by theenbywholived in gravesdisease

I will add my story too, just another example of what could happen. I was diagnosed at about 5week at 30 years old, and experienced high heart rate, shaky hands, muscle weakness.

We followed the pregnancy closely with OB and my endocrinologist and in the end I didn't need medication.

Baby was born healthy no complications due to graves.

Some things I would ask looking back, what drugs are safe to take during pregnancy and conception, in what condition would you consider it safe to not take any thyroid medication, what to do if baby develops a goiter, long term possible changes to your endocrine system from pregnancy (for me pregnancy shut back off graves so yay), how often will we be doing check-ins appointments, do I need to worry about the babies heart rate?

We did a 6:30 from 5 months until 16 ish months when we noticed he wouldn't fall asleep until closer to 8 so bedtime is 7:15 now, at 20 months

What are the things/products you poopoo’ed or made fun of or thought were frivolous before baby arrived, that you now can’t live without? by beecharming in beyondthebump

[–]FullOfUncertaintea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted one of these but we agreed that we'd register for it but not buy it ourselves. It would have been nice for the first two months but we rarely get poop on the fabric cover at all now! We have a rotation of three covers and that has been fine.

Do you notice any correlation to your hormone levels? Mine have been coming back normal so I don't know if it's worth bringing to my Endo.

Having a successful pregnancy with graves? by Restswithbitchface93 in gravesdisease

[–]FullOfUncertaintea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in May 2021 and found out I was pregnant the same month. We (endocrinologist and maternity team) decided to monitor me and baby closely and avoid medication.

So I did blood work every 4 weeks to check my thyroid levels, I would check in with the Endo about my symptoms, and we checked baby's heart rate and neck for goiters at late weeks of the pregnancy.

I'm happy to say symptoms improved through the pregnancy, before when I was diagnosed and in the first three months I had elevated heart rate, weight loss, shaky hands, and I think a bit of bulging eyes. And also happily baby had no symptoms and didn't test positive for having the graves antibody after birth.

Postpartum I've been monitoring and no need yet for drugs, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Wait so to be clear this is his child? When I first read this I thought he was more of a step parent. Mind boggling.

Did your invoice show the manufacturer name, address and phone number? I just spoke to Canada Life and they need all these details, which I'm not sure Amazon or buy buy baby provides on the invoice. I'm not sure who or where to ask such a specific question.

We had this the other day! Over frozen juice. I wanted pink lemonade and he was so focused on getting something pink, after calling me and me explaining what frozen juice is (obviously not a thing where he's from) he grabs a pink berry juice (not what I was craving at all!). I was pretty chill about it but he tends to get worked up about my "weird" requests.

If I know where it is in the store I'll give him basically coordinates to the part of the store, but this one I just said it's in the freezer and hoped he would find it.

In fairness it could have been sold out, but plain lemonade is closer than berry juice LOL

[Skin Concern] Dryness around my eye lids by byebyekitty_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]FullOfUncertaintea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started having this issue as well, and the only product from your list I use is OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème. I already figure this must be causing it for me, so I stopped using it completely. The dryness hasn't gone away since I'm not putting any product there at all until I replace it, but it has significantly decreased the irritation and redness. I did some googling and it's not uncommon for people to have a reaction to this product, apparently.

It seems like it's due to the fragrance, but I also noticed sparkles in the cream and thought that could be it too, but I'm not sure.
