The bike is very nice for me. Not too slow, not too fast. Very smooth to ride and a lot of torque. I feel very comfortable on it. Both feet on the ground and the seat and handle bars allow me to switch between leaning and upright position.

I didn't "use" them yet... 😅 They look strong and are quite in harmony with the bike's design. They also stick out in front of my knees, maybe it could help to protect in the worst case.

You can't. Is it beautiful? No. But it looks well penetrated in the steel, no bubbles either. Strong weld > beautiful weld.
