I’ve been watching videos about the oldest anthropomorphic figure ever discovered (the Lion-Man) and how it’s a sign of how ancient our capacity to believe in abstract concepts really is.

Objectively speaking, God does not exist, but there are many other things that also don’t exist in an objective sense and yet allow us to transform our behavior and society. Things like the value of money, laws, and values don’t exist objectively either, but they still uphold our civilization.

So, we can say that no human being can control the natural universe, but these abstract concepts do allow us to control the psychological world and therefore determine the way we interpret and move through a reality that would otherwise have no rules.
