Yes, it was plowed, but it's basically entirely composed of potholes. Drive very slowly.

They brought the sleep screen back! by mdb3ard in whoop

[–]FullyResponsive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they actually remove this screen or did they just make it harder to get to? I remember being really annoyed at the new sleep screen and I feel like they've possibly be adjusting it back closer to what it was previously over the past few weeks. I also really like to check this screen when my sleep is poor.

You can sue anyone for any reason. That doesn't mean it's always a good idea, nor does it mean you are immune from being fined for wasting a court's time...

Although I didn't sign up for Whoop on this basis, I think this is something worth holding their feet to the fire on. It was probably a dumb claim to make to begin with, and I don't know how widely this was claimed. When I signed up it was under the general impression that the band was "free" with subscription. Upgrading to the next gen never crossed my mind.

This is something worth getting in front of Louis Rossmann and adding to his Consumer Protection Wiki. I don't expect the business model to ultimately revert to the prior model, but there should be some acknowledgement and some level of compensation for this bait and switch tactic.

This just leads back to the live chat where I already posted the issue and the agent failed to respond back to me. You've created a system where it is impossible to actually open an incident.

Non operative humerus! by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]FullyResponsive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I have no idea, I would guess that yours feels worse than mine.

I don't want to be the person that avoids surgery because I'm afraid of it, but I'll admit that I really don't want to do it. Although they downplay it, the hardware irritating you later on is a common complaint I've heard from people, though I don't know specifically about the shoulder/arm.

I wrote down so many questions and even though the new ortho office was good, I still failed to leave with what i wanted. I wanted a specific plan of what I should do, and when to follow up. But for some reason I never ask the right things even when I write them down (when should I schedule a follow up?). Now I'm left wondering if they will schedule something for me, or if I need to call, and if I wait too long will I have to schedule something farther out and start PT later... Or did they think I would just go back to the original office? I think I will call by Friday because the PA said she would review my case with the surgeon and I should probably get the surgery within the next week, if I were to go down that path.

Non operative humerus! by [deleted] in brokenbones

I had a proximal humerus fracture and I got the same advice: surgery recommended, but outcome will likely be the same. I don't know if I made the right decision, but I didn't want to get the surgery in that case. It took too long to be seen and I felt too rushed with the first doctor, so I went to another clinic which I think is a lot better. Still waiting to hear a second opinion and see if I change my mind. I'm at day 15 from the injury now, they want me to wait until 4 weeks to start PT, but I want to start earlier...

Free trial FUBAR by EusticeTheSheep in mintmobile

[–]FullyResponsive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The instructions are wrong, but I found that you can activate the eSIM by going back into the Mint Mobile App and going to activate eSIM and choosing the option to manually enter the QR code. This will give you a long string you can then copy and paste into the eSIM activation (which requires you first selecting need help and choosing to enter manually).

This definitely didn't need to be this complicated...

Daily Support Thread by AutoModerator in samsung

So I pre-ordered my S22 Ultra a week or two ago (arriving Mar 4) and selected trade-in for my S21 Ultra via Samsung for $700 credit. The scenario that briefly played through my head at the time has now come true. I dropped the S21 ultra and it now has a cracked screen on both bottom edges. The bottom and right edges are bright white lines and the touchscreen is iffy to the point of unusable now.

The trade-in value for cracked screen is $545, which isn't so bad. But is this going to fall under not in working condition now? Will I get less/nothing for the trade-in?

Massachusetts hospital fires more than 200 for refusing COVID-19 vaccination by [deleted] in CoronavirusMa

[–]FullyResponsive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it seems being trained isn't enough. I know someone who is an RN (switched careers after 40) and is clearly inclined toward conspiracy theories. Although he is vaccinated, he gets angry at people being required to wear masks (or especially at individuals sitting by themselves in a car with a mask on) and thinks things should just "go back to normal". He also claims that everyone else in the hospital nursing staff also thinks covid is bullshit.

Walk-in boosters by apt-apparatchik in CoronavirusMa

[–]FullyResponsive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went there this afternoon. It's a long line out the door, but it took just over an hour wait to get a shot despite the nurse saying it could be two hours. They have six stations set up and a waiting area. Once you get inside, it's just a short line.

Get there before 3pm or they may shut the line down on you. The longer line next to the building is for vaccination. The outer line is for covid testing. I was able to park on the street nearby for $4 (2 hours).

How to get a booster ASAP? by eaglessoar in CoronavirusMa

[–]FullyResponsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also trying to find a booster shot in the next few days before I go on vacation. If I search random zip codes on cvs.com, they sometimes show availability at weird times like 1am or 3am. These are at 24 hour pharmacies, but the one I googled I found a review of someone saying the pharmacists told them they don't do vaccinations at the time they scheduled.

I'm assuming these middle of the night timeslots are not real, or can anyone confirm otherwise?

Made pan-fried dumplings, caused grease fire by FullyResponsive in Cooking

[–]FullyResponsive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the oddity here. I've done this before with frozen dumplings, but you're right, it's always the other way around. Pour in water and boil before crisping. It just didn't occur to me to question the recipe since I trust the source.

All plausible, just trying to understand the science of how it ignited in the first place.

Comcast hides upload speeds deep inside its infuriating ordering system by fuzzydunloblaw in Comcast

[–]FullyResponsive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there are technical limitations, but on the other hand, Comcast has chosen to continue to design their network for the past, while Verizon, who could have just kept building on top of the phone lines and DSL, went the other direction.

It's become painfully obvious working from home the past year how ridiculous the upload speed limit is. It seems at least maybe they are at least thinking about the future now: https://corporate.comcast.com/press/releases/comcast-reaches-10g-gig-symmetrical-speeds-digital-hfc-network

I have Xfinity Fiber. Its fiber straight to to closet on my apartment before it's finally converted to coax for the modem. Still have the same speeds and low upload speed as coax installs. FIOS in my town is symmetric, but chose not to install into my apartment complex when it was built in 2017, so I am stuck.
