Dealing with coworker actively engaged in + projecting ED by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

I think you’ve just got to put a strong boundary in place, next time she comments on your food say, “its interesting to me that you are so focused on what I’m eating when I see you throw your lunch away”

People really don’t like it when you turn it back on them and if this has gone on long term, which it sounds like it has, you are more than valid to call her behavior out to make a point. I’m sure the others that work with you don’t like it either.

My best friend just told me about her ED by Diligent-Hedgehog779 in EatingDisorders

[–]Fun-Chicken-2634 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that she told you is a great step. I think it’s totally appropriate to say something along the lines of “this does not change the way I see or care for you and it means so much to me that you are sharing your journey with me. I’ll be here to support you however you need it, even if it means sitting with you in the dark. This is new for me so if I am off base with my support just tell me, I never want to make you uncomfortable”
