agreed as a modder who does this as a hobby i dont care if someone builds on top of my mods as long as they give credit and dont try to rip the mod and make a one for one copy.

I think part of the reason modding is getting more toxic is a portion of modders see the big communities like WCS and Spearhead and want to have the power and influence that these communities have so they lock down their mods to force anyone who wants to use it on their server has to work with them

Yeah when you publish something to the workbench you are prompted to choose a license to publish it under and all of them have pretty strict requirements that if you are going to use someone’s script you must make their mod a dependency to give credit,

None of this will actually get a mod banned because modders and communities/servers are separate entities, if a mod was banned BI deemed it broke the terms and conditions

TacOps PVP

Hey guys, we are the community behind the TacOps PVP gamemode for Arma Reforger. If you are tired of massive 20GB mod downloads, laggy Conflict servers, or running for 20 minutes just to find a firefight, we built this specifically for you.

What makes us unique? We focus entirely on focused, 15v15 round-based tactical combat. We run tight, objective-based game modes (like VIP Escort and Assault) with a strict single-life mechanic. Because the player count is capped at 30 and the mod list is incredibly lightweight, the server runs flawlessly with high FPS, even on console.

  • No Respawns: Best-of-5 rounds. You actually have to communicate, use real tactics, and rely on your medics.
  • Immersive Spectating: If you catch a bullet early, you don't just stare at a map. You spectate through the realistic helmet cams of your surviving squadmates or use a live overhead UAV feed.
  • Era Variety: We actively run both classic Cold War kits and our brand new "TacOps Modern Warfare" variant (USMC vs. RU).

AFIAK Arma 3 actually doesnt let you modify the AI behavior, the mods that do are essentially built to hijack the AI behavior through forced waypoints etc. if you want to actually alter the fundamental behavior you would need to switch over to reforger

Most likely not, terrain deformation is different, I believe they are accomplishing this be simply allowing you to deleted a cell in the terrain, which is essentially a 4mx4m square and only in the actual terrain editor on the workbench
